New Year's holidays do not pass without a tracefor almost no one – abundant fatty food, long Christmas holidays lasting almost two weeks. Not every organism can withstand such days without any changes. Ulcers, gastritis, excess weight, sleep disorders – this is not a complete list of what January brings to people. And if a woman is pregnant? What should she do, because such blows to the liver and stomach, and other unpleasant consequences of the holidays are absolutely unnecessary for her? Locking herself at home, contenting herself with a vegetable salad and a glass of non-alcoholic wine – not every pregnant woman has enough willpower. Of course, there can be no talk of alcoholic drinks, because it is unlikely that any of the expectant mothers will risk endangering their child. But abundant food on holidays is unlikely to pass by a pregnant woman. And therefore a diet for pregnant women can be extremely relevant. What are the most common dangers that lie in wait for a pregnant woman? There are not so many of them, however, in no case should they be underestimated, because the consequences can be the most unpleasant for both the mother and the future baby. So, after the New Year holidays it often happens:
- Exacerbation, or even the acquisition of diseases of the digestive tract
Very often tasty, but far from healthy food, which is on our holiday tables, puts a heavy load on the entire digestive system. And pregnant women have it especially hard these days, because, as a rule, all expectant mothers on ordinary days adhere to a certain gentle diet. And on holidays, the load on the stomach of the expectant mother is simply enormous, especially if the woman is at a late stage of pregnancy, because the uterus also presses very hard on the stomach. And the longer the pregnancy, the higher the risk of developing problems with the stomach and gastrointestinal tract. Therefore, a diet for pregnant women is not an empty phrase. We cannot ignore such a delicate problem as hemorrhoids. As many doctors note, it is in the first month of the new year that people come to them with complaints of emerging or aggravated hemorrhoids. And this is not surprising - almost all holiday dishes are prepared using certain seasonings, which very negatively affects the course of an existing disease, and its development from scratch can also take place. Moreover, pregnancy, unfortunately, is a very predisposing factor for the development of hemorrhoids. In addition, we must not lose sight of the fact that abundant and fatty food can provoke a disruption of the normal functioning of the digestive tract, and, as a result, either diarrhea or, on the contrary, constipation. And the expectant mother should not forget about this problem. It is easier to take precautions than to try to solve it later by resorting to medications. Development of allergic diseases Another danger that can lie in wait for a pregnant woman during the New Year holidays is, of course, the development of all kinds of food allergic reactions. Do not be surprised if you suddenly discover that you have a strong allergy to tangerines or chocolate, even if up until now you could eat tons of them. Now you are pregnant, and your body works completely differently than before. And therefore, such unpredictable allergic reactions are possible, even to absolutely familiar and normally tolerated products. Therefore, just in case, buy some antihistamines (antiallergic) drugs in advance, so that an allergic reaction does not take you by surprise. Your doctor will tell you which pharmacological drug to give preference to.
Of course, abundant food cannot but have an effecton the weight of the expectant mother, especially since pregnant women gain excess weight very, very quickly. But it is for a pregnant woman that every hundred grams of excess weight risks turning into quite serious complications. The appearance of shortness of breath, toxicosis of the second half of pregnancy, the appearance of edema - these are just some of the possible complications. There is also a very, very high probability that as a result of excess weight, a woman will develop varicose veins. But this disease is very difficult to get rid of even after the birth of a child, so do not underestimate the danger of its occurrence. In addition, excess weight during pregnancy can lead to complications for the health of the child. Firstly, it puts an increased load on the cardiovascular system of a woman. This means that there is a very high risk that a violation of normal blood circulation in the placenta may develop, and accordingly, the child may not receive not only the nutrients so necessary for full development, but also oxygen, which can lead to the development of intrauterine hypoxia.
How to get rid of problems?
However, fortunately, in almost all casesIt is not so difficult to get rid of an extra couple of kilograms gained during the New Year holidays. Of course, diets for pregnant women to lose weight should be very different from regular diets for losing weight. In no case should a woman expecting a baby go on a strict diet and starve herself, because otherwise the baby may also significantly miss out on nutrients. Therefore, especially for expectant mothers, doctors - nutritionists, together with gynecologists, have developed special diets for pregnant women. By following these diets, the expectant mother will not only quickly get rid of excess weight, but will also normalize the functioning of the entire body, which will significantly facilitate the course of pregnancy, eliminate toxicosis, dizziness, and improve the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract. The first and most important rule that a future mother needs to remember is that a diet for future mothers is always strictly cyclical - a few days of normal diet, then a global fasting day, after which normal diet again. Such food zigzags are a powerful positive shake-up for the body of a pregnant woman - in just one day she loses from 800 grams to one kilogram, and pay attention to the most important thing - the child does not suffer at all, which is also important. Below are the main schemes for fasting days recommended by doctors - nutritionists for pregnant women:
Apple - kefir diet
This diet is perhaps the most widelypopular. And this is not surprising, because it is actually very effective. You need to eat about one and a half to two kilograms of fresh apples per day, and drink one liter of kefir. Of course, eating just apples is not such a bright prospect, so you can try to diversify your diet and prepare, for example, a salad. Peel and seed two large apples, grate them on a large grater, or cut into thin strips. Chop about 50 grams of any greens. However, remember that parsley is highly discouraged for pregnant women, since the substances it contains can provoke the development of spontaneous miscarriage or the onset of premature labor. Mix the chopped greens and apples, and season them with either lean mayonnaise or vegetable oil. Perhaps at first glance, such a salad will seem strange to you, but believe me - its taste is not only unusual, but also really pleasant. Often, a woman, having tried it for the first time during pregnancy, continues to make it after the birth of the child. You can also make another good salad of apples and onions. To prepare it, you will need two medium-sized sour apples. Also, either cut into small strips or grate the apple, chop one small onion, greens and mix all the ingredients. You can dress the salad in the same way - either with vegetable oil or lean mayonnaise. If you do not want to eat only apples, or you are simply tired of them, try replacing apples with pre-soaked in boiling water or dried apricots or prunes. Apples are generally a very healthy product. In addition to the fact that they contain a huge amount of iron, and therefore with regular consumption of apples, iron deficiency anemia is almost completely excluded, apples are also an excellent tonic. Have you been spoiled in the mood, you did not get enough sleep, or you just feel inexplicably unwell? Don't be sad, just eat one apple - and your health will improve many times over. As already mentioned above, kefir should be consumed as a drink during such a diet, and it is very desirable to use low-fat kefir. Although if the expectant mother suffers from individual intolerance to dairy products, or simply does not like them for some reason, you can replace kefir with an equally useful rosehip decoction. It should also be drunk at least one liter per day, unless, of course, your gynecologist has not given you other instructions regarding your drinking regime. And, of course, do not add sugar to the rosehip decoction on fasting days, otherwise all your efforts aimed at reducing excess weight will be in vain.
Fish diet
Can't stand fruits?Well, this happens – you shouldn’t force yourself and try to stuff apples into yourself. Arrange a fish fasting day for yourself – at least one a week. It will be enough to get rid of excess weight very quickly. During the day, the expectant mother can eat about half a kilogram of any unsalted fish, either boiled or steamed, without any fears. Moreover, very often women ask doctors – nutritionists about what fish is best to choose for fasting days. However, in fact, this is not so important – even fatty fish are ideal, because fish oil is very useful for the body. The best option would be to divide the fish into five meals – about a hundred grams per meal. You can drink either kefir, or pure still water, or the same rosehip decoction, of course, you should not add sugar in this case either – extra carbohydrates on a fasting day are not at all necessary. However, even after getting rid of excess weight, the expectant mother should monitor her weight. Despite the fact that restricting food intake is unacceptable for a pregnant woman, the diet itself deserves close attention. The daily diet for pregnant women should be agreed upon with a dietitian, or at least a gynecologist who monitors the course of pregnancy. And remember that a pregnant woman should constantly and very carefully monitor her weight. We recommend reading:
