As you know, seafood is a source of usefuleasily digestible protein. This is their first advantage, which cannot be ignored. And the second is a delicious taste, which is appreciated by gourmets and they are not the only ones. There are also some disadvantages. First of all, high prices, and they are not sold on every corner. However, there is one representative of the world of invertebrates, which is widely represented in our stores in frozen and canned form, the price can also be called adequate. Of course, we are talking about squid, and the topic of our article is salads with squid and cucumbers. However, first, as usual, we will share some information from the life of cephalopods, to which the scientific community classifies squid. We hope that they will help you in culinary creativity, since the preparation of all seafood in general and squid in particular requires knowledge of some secrets. First, let's talk about the beneficial properties of squid. We have already mentioned protein, and in addition to it, squid contains a whole range of useful amino acids, polyunsaturated fatty acids, B vitamins, etc., etc. In short, the product is extremely useful, and it simply must be included in the menu of every family. In order to prepare delicious salads with squid and cucumbers, the quality of the original products is very important. And if there are no particular difficulties with cucumbers (a cucumber is a cucumber), then with squid things are not so cloudless. Our mollusk is a very delicate and perishable product. And therefore it is put into processing immediately after catching. This can be canning or freezing. But you can freeze squid only once, otherwise it will lose all its taste, it may be bitter, in short, you cannot cook a good dish from such squid. And in our stores they simply love to freeze delicate mollusks several times. So be careful! What is the best way to defrost squid? Naturally, of course. The best option is to transfer it from the freezer to the refrigerator. You can use cold water, but the first option is still better. To free the squid from the film covering their body, you should pour boiling water over them and drain it immediately - the film can be easily removed with a knife. Squid can be boiled, fried, baked, stewed and even stuffed. Like most seafood, they do not like long-term heat treatment. If you overcook them a little, the squid will turn into inedible rubber. In order for our salad with squid and cucumbers to be tasty, we will boil them for literally 3 minutes, no more. The basic information is presented, and we can proceed to the recipes.
