Sausage has long and firmly taken the leading positionpositions among the favorite national products, as, incidentally, are potatoes. But what if you combine these two products in one dish? And not in a salad or something, but in a full-fledged hot dish, prepared, say, for dinner. Or for breakfast. And a potato casserole with sausage will perfectly cope with the role of such a hybrid. This is what we suggest you cook. So, choose a recipe.
Baked potato and boiled sausage
The simplest and most common type of casserole. We will cook it with boiled sausage. Ingredients:
- 400 g of potatoes;
- 200 g of boiled sausage;
- 100 g of cheese (solid);
- 2 garlic cloves;
- Half a glass of sour cream;
- Salt and black ground pepper.
Preparation:Wash the potatoes thoroughly and boil them in their skins in slightly salted water (for about twenty minutes). Now drain the water, peel the potatoes and cool them. While the potatoes are cooling, cut the sausage into thin petals, peel and chop the garlic and turn the cheese into cheese shavings using a grater. Now let's start assembling the casserole. Turn on the oven in advance and grease the prepared casserole dish with oil. By the way, you can also sprinkle the dish with breadcrumbs. So, cut the potatoes into thin circles and overlap them, place them in a circle in the dish. Sprinkle with half of the chopped garlic and put the sausage as a second layer. Sprinkle this layer with garlic as well, and then add cheese on top. Salt, season with ground black pepper and pour sour cream over it. Put the dish in the oven for about fifteen minutes. Serve the casserole hot.
Casserole with sausages and melted cheese
We love sausages no less than other sausage products. Most often, we simply boil them. But try to cook sausages differently by adding them to a casserole. Ingredients:
- Kilogram of potatoes;
- A pound of sausages;
- 3 chicken eggs;
- 2 heads of onions;
- Glass of mayonnaise;
- 2 processed cheese.
Preparation:First, boil the potatoes in their skins and let them cool. We also need to hard-boil and cool the eggs. Finely chop the cooled eggs, chop the onion and cut the sausages into circles or bars (all separately). Now peel and cut the potatoes into circles. Assemble the casserole as follows. Place a layer of boiled potatoes on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Sprinkle it with onions, sliced sausages and egg on top. Grease the top of the casserole generously with mayonnaise and put the baking sheet in a preheated oven. The first stage of baking lasts about twenty minutes. The oven temperature is from 180 to 200 degrees. After twenty minutes, remove the baking sheet from the oven and sprinkle the casserole with grated processed cheese. Put the baking sheet back in the oven for about ten minutes. Serve the casserole hot.
Casserole with home-made sausages
By the way, this version of the casserole is suitable for economical use of yesterday's mashed potatoes. If there is no mashed potatoes, then you just need to cook it. Ingredients:
- 5-6 pieces of potatoes;
- 5-6 pieces of raw home-made sausages;
- A glass of fatty cream;
- Egg;
- Head of onions:
- Salt and seasonings to your taste.
Preparation:Wash the potatoes, peel, cut into pieces and put them to boil. Mash the boiled hot potatoes into a puree, draining the water first. Then add cream, salt and one egg and beat the puree with a blender, mixer or even a regular fork. Put the puree in a greased and breadcrumb-sprinkled form and add spices (sprinkle directly on top). Put homemade sausages on top of the puree and put the form in the oven for about thirty to forty minutes. Do not forget that the oven needs to be preheated in advance, and the casserole should be cooked at a temperature of about 220 degrees. You can serve ketchup, sour cream or mayonnaise with the finished casserole.
Casserole with potatoes and smoked sausage
Our parade of recipes will be completed by a casserole with potatoes and smoked sausage, which we will cook in the microwave. Ingredients:
- 6 medium potatoes;
- 200 g of smoked sausage;
- 2 cups of milk;
- 4 chicken eggs;
- 2 garlic cloves;
- Nutmeg;
- Black pepper;
- Salt;
- Fresh greenery.
Preparation:Wash and peel the potatoes, then cut into thin slices. Cut the sausage into narrow strips. Mix the eggs with milk and beat with a mixer, adding salt, pepper, nutmeg (to taste) and crushed garlic to the mixture. Grease the casserole dish with vegetable or butter (or margarine) and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Put the raw potatoes in the first layer and coat (sprinkle) them with the egg and milk mixture. Put the sausage in the second layer and also sprinkle it with the prepared filling. The casserole can be assembled from two or four layers, and on the last top layer you need to pour all the remaining filling and arrange small pieces of butter. Cover the dish with a lid or plate and put it in the microwave. Turn on the oven at full power and set the timer for twenty minutes. After that, remove the lid from the pan, reduce the oven power to medium and keep the casserole in it for another three minutes. Serve hot, sprinkled with fresh herbs. This is how different your potato casserole with sausage can be. As you already understood, you can put any sausage products in it, cook it with boiled or raw potatoes and even with mashed potatoes. And you can use both a traditional oven and a microwave oven, which is popular today, for baking. Cook with pleasure, and bon appetit! We recommend reading:
