The healing properties of horseradish have been known since ancient times.BC, when the Greeks used it as a rub and a tonic. Mix the composition thoroughly and put it in the refrigerator: the medicine is ready. Take the prepared mixture 1 teaspoon in the morning before meals for adults, and half a teaspoon for children. Homemade horseradish recipe
To prepare a spicy seasoning you will need:
- Root of horse-radish 1,5 kg;
- Lemon 1 pc .;
- Salt 1 tbsp. l .;
- Sugar 3 tbsp. l .;
- Water
The rhizomes should be washed well, cleaned andmince. Add salt and sugar to the resulting gruel and pour boiling water over it until it reaches the consistency of thick sour cream. Mix the mixture thoroughly and place it in a container. Add a few drops of lemon juice to each jar. Close the spice in the jars tightly and refrigerate. Serve horseradish with lemon with fish and meat dishes. The prepared mixture keeps well for 2-3 months in the refrigerator. When serving the spice with dishes, horseradish can be mixed with sour cream.
The recipe for horseradish with beets
The preparation of this recipe is especially common in Ukrainian cuisine. Beetroot gives the mixture an appetizing red color and a piquant sweetish taste. The following ingredients are needed:
- Rhizomes of horseradish 10-12 pcs .;
- Beetroot dining room 1 pc .;
- Sugar, salt to taste;
- Table vinegar.
Clean the roots and wash thoroughly.Then soak the horseradish in very cold water for 5-6 hours. This will reduce the pungency of the plant, which will make it possible to prepare the seasoning. Next, grind the roots: either put them through a meat grinder or grate them on a fine grater. To prevent the smell from stinging your eyes, put a bag on the meat grinder. To avoid such problems, an electric meat grinder is ideal. Next, grind the raw beets on a grater. Squeeze the juice out of the resulting gruel. Add beet juice to the horseradish gruel, mix everything thoroughly and add 2 tbsp. of food vinegar. If the mixture is very thick, add a little boiled cooled water to the composition until it reaches the consistency of liquid sour cream. Add salt and sugar to the prepared mixture to taste.
