One of the most anticipated days of the year is the DayValentine's Day. How can you not look forward to such a special day when, without false modesty, you can confess your feelings for the opposite sex or even declare your love, or simply say once again how dear your loved one is to you. After all, it is a good tradition to confess your love and give symbolic gifts-confessions "valentines". And if you are not only a smart and beautiful woman, but also a needlewoman, then you simply have to make such valentines with your own hands. Do you know how to knit? Or maybe you sew, draw, embroider, sculpt? In a word, Valentine's Day is a great occasion to put your skillful hands to making heart-shaped gifts. But how to make a valentine with your own hands, and in what form to make this souvenir, we will talk about.
Valentine-Topiary
There are probably no needlewomen who don’twould try (or not) to make a very popular interior decoration now - a tree of happiness. It is also called "topiary". What are not such trees made of: paper, cotton wool, salt dough, cold porcelain, fabric, beads, natural materials (you can't list them all). But it turns out that in the form of a tree of happiness you can also make a traditional valentine, you just need to give the crown the shape of a three-dimensional heart. You can cut such a heart out of foam and decorate it using the end-grain technique or with corrugated paper roses or quilling flowers. You can sew the crown of a topiary valentine, for example, using the Tilda doll technique. And as a result, you will get a kind of tildika valentine. Or you can use traditional red silk, drape, satin, wool for this, stuffing the blank with padding polyester and decorating it with lace, bows, beads or a congratulatory inscription. Or you can do it differently. So, how to make a Valentine in the form of a tree of happiness? For an original tree in the form of a Valentine we will need:
- Salty dough and wooden skewers;
- Gypsum, ribbons, beads, braid;
- Acrylic and contour paints;
- Wire, lace, sequins, plastic disposable cups.
We make a crown from salt dough, dry it andpaint it red (on one side). Here it is up to you: you can use regular gouache or acrylic paints. Cover it with clear varnish and sprinkle with glitter (while the varnish is not completely dry). Meanwhile, while the varnish is drying, take lace or openwork braid and use a needle and thread to gather it into a frill or simply into a frill (fold). Then put our heart into this lace frill, gluing the lace along the “heart” contour. Glue a skewer-trunk to the back (unpainted) side and paint the back of the future valentine with white paint. Let it dry, dilute the plaster, pour it into a glass (about a third), insert the heart on the skewer and wait for the plaster to harden. Then we release our construction from the cup and decorate the plaster base of the topiary. To do this, you can glue it with a colored napkin, wrap it with a beautiful piece of fabric, wrap it with braid or ribbons. In conclusion, all that remains is to apply an inscription on the red side of the heart with contour paints and add decorations from beads or ribbons. That's all - the creative DIY Valentine is ready.
Wreath
Another very interesting valentinesis made on the principle of a Christmas wreath. In this case, you can choose one of two options: a round base decorated with hearts or a heart-shaped base decorated with anything. How to make such a valentine? Let's figure it out. Valentine wreath with a round base For this product, use, for example, a hoop or a homemade wire hoop, or a ring of flexible branches (willow). In general, such a ring is the most profitable option. In addition, the valentine wreath will turn out voluminous if you use a whole bunch of branches, twisting it into a ring. And we decorate the ring itself with traditional hearts: sewn, knitted, molded, cut out or twisted from paper. Do not forget to add a ribbon, by which such non-standard valentines can be hung, and additional decorations (bows, beads, rhinestones, ribbons) to your taste. Option with a Valentine's card with a heart-shaped base The main thing here is to make a neat and durable wire heart frame. You can sew a voluminous frame in the shape of a heart, fill it with padding polyester or cotton wool, and insert wire inside for rigidity. Well, then, at your discretion, decorate this heart as you like. With paper or porcelain flowers, berries, bows, dried flowers, buttons, in general, anything, as long as it is beautiful. Oh, and don't forget about the ribbon loop for the Valentine - it will be more functional.
Sachet
Fragrant valentines – how creative?If you use the idea and principle of making fragrant sachets for this holiday, you will get not only a creative, but also a useful thing. Moreover, useful in the literal sense of the word - if you make such a sachet smell of aphrodisiacs. Here are two options for a fragrant valentine as a gift. Heart-shaped sachet To sew a valentine-sachet, we will need natural fabric, sewing accessories and something for decoration. Sew a heart-shaped pillow: cut out two heart-shaped parts, fold them with the front sides together, stitch along the contour and turn them inside out. While the pillow is still empty, decorate it with embroidery, applique or any other way. Then pour the fragrant mixture into the pillow through the opening for turning and sew up the opening with a blind stitch. Rectangular valentine-sachet For such a fragrant valentine, cut out two square parts from linen fabric. Cut out several hearts from pieces of multi-colored felt (white, red, pink). The very first one should be about the size of a rectangular linen piece (excluding seam allowances), and each subsequent heart should be about two millimeters smaller. Cut out about six or seven of these hearts, stack them in a pile (the largest one is at the bottom), and sew them along the axial longitudinal line. Then sew the stack of hearts along the same axial line to the front side of one of the rectangular pieces cut out for the valentine. Now fold both parts of the pillow with the wrong sides together, fold the edges inward and stitch along the perimeter with a decorative zigzag, leaving a small opening for pouring in the filling. Fill the sachet valentine with stuffing – the fragrant pillow for Valentine's Day is ready. A little about the fillings for the fragrant valentine
