These cowboy pants are packed with almost everything today.not every second (from small to large). What sizes and styles you will not find! Comfortable, versatile, durable! But the durability of jeans often leaves much to be desired. Especially when it comes to jeans on beautiful women's legs. Sooner or later, denim becomes thinner, wears out and simply begins to crack at the seams. And we have a natural question: "How to sew up a hole in jeans?" Especially if this concerns holes on the inside of the legs (in places that are above the knees and closer to the butt). And just by catching on something, you can tear brand new jeans. What to do in such cases? How to revive a still good thing? There are only three options: sew up a hole in jeans with a patch, darn it or turn the hole into a fashionable slit.
Putting patches
Sew up a hole in jeans in less intimate places(for example, on the knees) can be done with ready-made appliques or decorative patches. In such patches, you can leave the edges unprocessed, leaving them "shaggy". In addition, decorative patches can be made from a completely different (not denim) fabric. For example, from chiffon or chintz - for summer jeans; from drape, wool or leather - for the winter version. You can also give the patches the shape of a rectangle, square or rhombus. Or you can decorate it with a line of colored thread or beads, rhinestones, sequins. Another option is gluing a patch with an adhesive web: it turns out that this is also how you can sew up a hole in jeans. To do this, select a suitable applique (larger than the hole). Cut it out along the contour, and reinforce the hole itself with interlining or interlining (from the inside - with an iron). Then we cut out the adhesive web in the shape of the patch, but slightly smaller in size, and glue the applique with a hot iron. For a greater effect, you can glue another symmetrical applique in the same way, or place it on the pocket, or simply place it nearby.
We do darning
You can mend a hole in jeans with a darning toolin the case when it has, for example, a triangular shape or looks like a "half-through" abrasion. We put the triangular hole (a piece of fabric torn along the grain and crosswise thread) in place, iron it well and carefully sew it with matching or contrasting threads. For a more "natural" seam, it can be continued by making a stitched rectangle. Part of the seam is connecting, part is on whole (not torn) fabric. We darn the worn areas as follows:
- well iron the shabby place on the jeans;
- from the inside we strengthen the hole with glue or lining cloth (doublerin, glutinous cobweb);
- From the front side we cut off all the threads that are not stuck together;
- suitable in a tone of thread zastrachivaem rubbing (back and forth) parallel to the direction of the "grooves" of denim.
It is best to sew up a hole in jeans in this way in a place where the darning will be less noticeable.
Make a stylish cut
This is the simplest option and is suitable forsmall holes on the front side of the leg. In this case, we enlarge the hole a little and fray its edges, removing the transverse threads. To make it more convincing, we add a few more similar slits next to the transformed hole. And as a result, we get stylish "torn" jeans. Useful tips:
- Before you sew a hole in your jeans, do not forget to wash them;
- When using the applique or other fabric, check its sensitivity to the hot iron;
- with a lack of skills in sewing and darning, it is best to contact an experienced acquaintance or atelier.
