crafts for Easter with your own handsHave you noticed that at Easter most oftensunny and warm weather? And the mood is sunny too, and the soul is warm and joyful. Probably, this is explained by the holiday itself, and our bright perception of Easter, which, perhaps, is genetically embedded. Unfortunately, the tradition of giving each other gifts on this day has almost been lost. But everything is in our hands, especially if these hands are skillful, and our mood is pre-holiday. And if everything is exactly like this, then nothing will stop us from making Easter crafts with our own hands. It is clear, we bake Easter cakes, make cottage cheese paska, paint eggs. And what else? What interesting thing can we come up with? How can we please both our loved ones and ourselves on this bright holiday? Let's try to make, for example, an Easter wreath, or unusual Easter candles or some other symbolic things that can be given as gifts and used to decorate the house on the holiday.

Easter wreath

Here we are already making a Christmas wreathlearned. And we know how to make a Valentine's wreath for Valentine's Day. Why not try making an Easter wreath too. Unusual? Unusual? Well, that's great! Let's surprise ourselves and others! As usual for a souvenir wreath, we take a base. For an Easter wreath, it is better to make it round or oval. The base can be cut out of foam or chipboard, or, for example, twisted from wire. We "refined" the resulting base. If it is a flat ring made of foam (chipboard), then we paint it with acrylic paint in any delicate color: blue, lemon, beige, light green, peach. If we twist the base from wire, then we give it volume by wrapping it, for example, with bast, sisal or corrugated paper. The base is ready. Now we proceed to the decor. What is considered the main symbol of Easter? An egg. So we will decorate our Easter wreath with eggs. First, let's prepare them. Take raw eggs and remove the contents (and from it - an omelet, fried eggs, biscuit!). You can "free" the eggs by piercing small holes at both ends of the egg, or by chipping off part of the shell from the side. If you want to decorate the wreath with multi-colored eggs, then paint them with special dyes for eggs, or paint them with the same acrylic paints. Or you can use unpainted white and beige eggs. And do not forget to wash and dry the empty shells well! Attach the resulting pysanky to the base with a glue gun, arranging them as you like. You can with the sharp ends inside the ring (like flower petals), or in a circle, sideways to the center of the base. Or string the shells on a thin wire (like beads) and roll it into a ring. And then fill the remaining space between the eggs with any decorative material: feathers from a boa, flowers and leaves made of fabric, paper or salt dough, fresh flowers and leaves, souvenir figures of rabbits or chickens. Done! Decorate the festive table with the wreath or hang it on the door or wall, or leave it as an Easter gift. However, DIY Easter crafts are not limited to using empty shells only in an Easter wreath. You can make original candles from them.crafts for Easter

Easter Candles

For them we will need eggs, regular oneshousehold paraffin or stearin candles, acrylic paints or egg dye and something that will become a candle stand. We prepare the shells differently than for the wreath: carefully break the egg into two halves with uneven edges. The edges will be uneven in any case, but this will give the candles a special charm. We wash the halves of the shells and dry them well. This way we get “cases” for Easter candles, which we paint with dye or acrylic paints. In the meantime, we prepare the filling. Separate the wick from the paraffin, melt the paraffin in a water bath, and cut the wick into small pieces, half as long as the height of the shells. Dip the small wicks in liquid paraffin and dry. After the wicks and shells are ready, place the former into the latter. That is, we insert the wick into the shell, fixing it with a piece of plasticine and a toothpick (we put the plasticine on the bottom, and the toothpick on top as a support). Fill the shells with paraffin and wait for everything to harden. The candles are almost ready. In conclusion, we make a stand from salt dough or plastic or use ready-made egg stands. These are the original DIY crafts for Easter that you can make using only the traditional symbol of the holiday. And if you do without eggs? Yes, easily!

Other Easter souvenirs

What other Easter gifts can you make yourself?with your own hands? In addition to the already traditional postcards, many cute and touching things can become such a gift. For example, egg stands, which can not only be molded, but also made using the quilling or macrame technique. Knitted or sewn rabbits and chickens, which can be “settled” in woven or glued paper baskets, will be an excellent gift. Souvenir eggs made of beads or salt dough, boxes in the form of an Easter egg or Easter cake, as well as any useful little things decorated with Easter attributes (pencil holders, key holders, eyeglass cases, book covers and bookmarks). Yes, you never know what your imagination can come up with! Any gift will definitely bring joy to both the recipient and the giver. Because it is not important what exactly you give, but that the Easter gifts are made with your own hands. And that means with love and joy, which will make such a gift especially valuable.
