How do you think, can avocado oil for hairhave any benefit? And what does it have in it that makes it so valuable for our curls? Many sources provide impressive lists of useful substances that are contained in avocado oil, and then disclose the reasons why all these nutrients affect the growth and condition of our hair.
Nutrients that stimulate hair growth
To begin with, I would like to debunk some mythsabout avocado. Rather, the most important of these myths is that avocado oil contains a lot of protein. This is not true. In the end, it is obtained by removing proteins, carbohydrates and other substances that are not fat. Look at the nutritional information on the bottle label with any oil, and you will see that the protein content in it is generally zero. The oil is obtained from the flesh of avocado fruits. The content of fatty acids is very similar to olive, because the content of oleic acid in its composition is particularly high. Quality avocado oil contains:
- 76% - oleic and palmitoleic acid;
- 12% - polyunsaturated fatty acids (linoleic and linolenic);
- 12% - palmitic and stearic acids.
While the fresh avocado is excellentsource of vitamins and minerals, the oil itself does not contain the same spectrum of these nutrients. Even the cold-pressed oil, which is created with a "gentle" process, is nevertheless created by separating the fat from the rest of the pulp (flesh pulp). At the same time, many water-soluble vitamins will for the most part be removed from the mixture. But fat-soluble vitamins in concentrated form do remain in the oil of avocado. Finally, although the oil contains omega-3 fatty acids, the amount of them is still relatively small. For example, fish oil or linseed oil contain them in larger quantities. But from the point of view of the benefits to hair, it is much more important to have an extremely high content of monounsaturated fatty acids in the extract from avocado. The latter are even more than olive, and this is one of the main reasons why avocado oil can be considered very useful for your hair. Massage mixtures based on avocados, which are rubbed into the scalp, stimulate the flow of blood to the hair follicles. With increased blood flow and improved blood circulation in the scalp, a much larger number of nutrients can reach the follicles, which generally leads to stimulation of the growth of new, strong and healthy hair. Finally, another obvious benefit of avocado in hair care is its monounsaturated fatty acids, phytosterols and a large number of antioxidants, such as vitamin E, which are well absorbed into the scalp and into the roots of the hair. It not only has a high moisturizing and protective effect against the adverse environment, but it can also stimulate the growth of new hair.
The use of avocado oil for your ringlets
So, if we sum up all that has been said, we can draw the following conclusions:
Three ways to use avocado oil
Below we give three recipes that will help improve the look of your curls, giving them strength and brilliance.
- Heat treatment
Mix 3-5 tablespoons of avocado oildepending on the length of your curls) and 3-5 tablespoons of olive. Heat in a saucepan over low heat until the composition has acquired a comfortable temperature for the scalp. If there is a desire and opportunity, add a few drops of rosemary essential oil (you can take lavender or sandalwood, but rosemary is best known for scalp and hair). Apply the mixture to the washed hair and gently massage the skin for several minutes. Put on a shower cap, and then wrap your head with a warm towel. Leave this "construction" to warm your head for 15-20 minutes. Then rinse the curls, but do not apply the conditioner any more, as each strand has already received enough food. When the hair dries, you will even be surprised how bright and shiny they will become!
- Home air conditioning
Whisk 2 tablespoons of avocado oil, 2tablespoons of olive, 1 tablespoon of honey and 3 tablespoons of natural (namely natural!) yogurt. Before washing your head, apply the mixture to damp hair, then put on the cap and hold for 15-20 minutes. Wash off with a mild shampoo. Balm-conditioner after this you do not need to apply! Avocado oil for hair has already softened enough and nourished your curls.
- The easiest way
It's really very simple. Using a factory balm conditioner after washing your head, pour it on your palm and add some avocado right there. Apply to hair and rinse thoroughly with water. And last but not least, use avocado oil for cooking, for example, salads. Your proper nutrition is as important to the hair as caring for them with extracts from a healthy fruit avocado!
