Most indoor gardening enthusiastswould not mind getting flower stands (a fashionable, mind you, interior item). Many of them would probably like to make such stands with their own hands. Of course, ideas for making this piece of furniture are more suitable for craftsmen than for craftswomen. But! Firstly, some ladies are simply masters at handling carpentry and metalworking tools, and secondly, you can simply puzzle your faithful with this, giving him an idea, and then with inspiration lead the process of its implementation into life. Therefore, we still suggest that you familiarize yourself with the ideas for self-made flower stands. And how to use this knowledge - your own handicraft experience and skills, and the experience of the "leadership" position of a companion of a jack of all trades will tell you.
Stand made of natural material
Yes, yes, natural material, namely partthe trunk of any tree can serve as an excellent base for a flower stand made with your own hands. The best choice for this is a trunk with thick branches located approximately at the same level (a ring around the trunk). But if the branches are not located so evenly - no problem: this way the stand will look even more original. So, for the flower stand we will need:
- a wooden log with branches-branches;
- scraps of plywood (areas for flower pots and for the base of the stand);
- Screws, some of which plywood will be attached to the chump;
- sandpaper;
- varnish for work on wood.
First, let's prepare the block of wood:remove the bark, clean up the rotten areas and sand the surface of the trunk and branches. Now you need to cut out a plywood base (round or rectangular), the size of which should be sufficient for the stability of the stand. Based on the number of branches, cut out round or rectangular parts from a plywood sheet, which will become platforms for flower pots. The size is determined based on the overall height and width of the future stand. Also clean the edges of the plywood scraps with sandpaper, and then align the lower cut of the trunk and screw the plywood base to it. Having installed the stand on a flat surface, determine the angle of the cut of the tops of the branches. Note that the surface of the cuts should be parallel to the floor. Saw off the branches to the desired height and align the cuts with sandpaper. All that remains is to fasten the plywood parts with screws, placing them on the cuts of the branches. After these works are finished, we take any varnish for wooden surfaces and cover the stand with it. That's it - our exclusive flower stand is ready!
Stand from stairs
From an old (even broken) stepladder tooyou will get an exclusive stand made with your own hands. What kind of ladder (wooden or metal) will turn into a flower stand - it does not matter. So, we take out the ladder, estimate its height and, if necessary, saw off the legs or even cut the lower steps. Now we extend the stepladder and fix the legs. For metal ladders, they are fixed automatically, and for a wooden stepladder, you can use a bar, nailing it between the legs. The base of the stand (or even the stand itself) is almost ready. If the steps of the stepladder are wide, then we leave them as they are, and on the narrow steps we put shelves cut out of plywood (fiberboard or hardboard sheet), and attach them with nails, screws or glue. Now we proceed to the decor. Without much ado, you can simply paint the stand with fresh paint. Moreover, here too it is permissible to show your wild imagination, painting the stand in different colors or even drawing patterns on it. And for more advanced craftswomen, a more complex method of decoration will do, namely, the decoupage technique. Well, and if you have any other art of decorating surfaces with your own hands, then you can apply your skills here - the master's business is afraid! As you can see, it is quite possible to make a flower stand with your own hands (or with your man's hands). Of course, with due experience and skill, such stands can be made not only from scrap materials. According to special drawings, they are made forged, welded, assembled from figured wooden blanks or metal pipes. But you need to start small. Go for it! The main thing is to start.
