Greek salad with brynzaYear after year the recipe for Greek salad becomesmore and more common in our domestic cuisine. It is understandable! Light due to vegetables (the main ingredient) and at the same time filling due to the cheese included in its composition. And how beautiful! And if you are confused by feta cheese, which is not yet available everywhere, then there is a way out: you can prepare a Greek salad with feta cheese. By the way, feta cheese is nothing more than a Greek version of the feta cheese we are used to. This is also a soft cheese made from sheep or goat milk, which is stored in brine. So feta cheese is quite suitable for preparing this delicious overseas analogue of our summer vegetable salad with cucumbers and tomatoes.Greek salad with cheese

Traditional version of Greek salad with brynza

To begin with, we present to you an adaptedGreek salad recipe. It contains all the ingredients of a traditional Greek salad except for feta cheese, which we will replace with feta cheese. Ingredients:

  • 4 fresh cucumbers;
  • 4 fresh tomatoes;
  • Pod of meaty sweet pepper;
  • Red onion head;
  • 250 g of brynza;
  • A bunch of leaf lettuce;
  • A bank of black olives without pits;
  • Olive oil;
  • Lemon juice;
  • Salt and black pepper;
  • Oregano and basil.

Preparation:Wash and dry all the vegetables, remove the seeds and membranes from the pepper. Vegetables for Greek salad are always cut large! Therefore, cut the cucumbers lengthwise into two parts, and then cut into semicircles. Cut the tomatoes into large cubes, the cheese into square slices, and tear the lettuce into shreds. Try to make the pieces of different vegetables approximately the same size. Now you need to cut the red onion into half rings and you can start assembling the salad. Put the chopped vegetables and torn lettuce leaves in a salad bowl, mix carefully and season with sauce. For the sauce, mix olive oil and lemon juice (three to one), add a pinch of dried oregano and basil, black pepper and salt. Put coarsely chopped cubes of feta cheese and olives on top of the salad.Greek salad recipe with brynza

Simplified version of Greek salad with cheese

A simplified recipe also has a right to exist. In addition, the taste of such a salad practically does not change, but the recipe for preparation is more reminiscent of our traditional vegetable salad. Ingredients:

  • Fresh cucumber;
  • Fresh tomato;
  • Fresh Bulgarian pepper;
  • Head of onions;
  • 150 g of brynza;
  • 150 g of black olives;
  • Lemon juice;
  • Vegetable oil.

Preparation: Wash all vegetables thoroughly.Peel the onion, remove the seeds and membranes from the pepper. Then cut the cucumbers, tomatoes and peppers into large cubes, and cut the feta cheese in the same way. Cut the onion in half and cut each half into half rings. Remove the olives (pitted!) from the jar. Put all the prepared products in a salad bowl, add a little salt, sprinkle with lemon juice and season with vegetable oil. That's it - the salad is ready. Note that each Greek salad recipe implies a certain set of products, and its invariable components are cucumbers, tomatoes, sweet peppers, onions, cheese and olives. Optional, but used can be called lettuce, capers and anchovies. By the way, you can make a special dressing for the Greek salad, or you can get by with regular vegetable oil. And traditional feta cheese, as you already understood, can be successfully replaced with feta cheese. Try it! Cook with pleasure, and bon appetit! We recommend reading:
