The device records the propagation time of the ultrasonic signal along and against the flow. The flow rate is measured by a microprocessor device that analyzes the data on the time difference and, in accordance with a given algorithm, determines the volume of the passed water. Vortex flowmeters (Krohne, Germany; "Amis", "Irvis", Russia, etc.) register the number of pressure drops when flowing around an obstacle. The measurements are based on the proportional relationship between the frequency of drops, the flow rate of the water and the volume of water consumption. Note that ultrasonic and vortex meters are exotic for apartments.
