Today, from such a disease asChronic erosive gastritis, a significant part of the population of Russia suffers from. Of course, any disease is easier to prevent than to treat. But if it has come to the disease, then, at least in general terms, it is necessary to understand what it is, what are the symptoms and signs, as well as what diet a person suffering from gastritis should follow.
Types of gastritis
A distinction is made between acute and chronic gastritis.
- Acute gastritis
This type of gastritis occurs under the influence ofirritating food, products that cause allergies, and also when acids, alcohol, and some medications are ingested. The process develops very quickly, nausea sets in, then vomiting begins. The person feels general weakness, cramping pains in the stomach area. In the acute course of the disease, caused by the ingestion of stale food or some allergens, they talk about the so-called catarrhal gastritis. In this case, the superficial layer of the mucous membrane is affected, respectively, such gastritis is quite easy to treat. When the stomach is damaged by acids and toxic substances, erosive gastritis develops. In this case, not only the superficial layer of the mucous membrane is affected, deeper layers are involved in the process. As a result, peptic ulcer disease may develop, and scars may appear.
- Chronic gastritis
This is a long-term inflammatory process of the mucous membrane.stomach, which can occur after acute gastritis, as well as due to constant disruption of the diet, alcohol abuse, constant exposure of the stomach to various irritants. In addition, a distinction is made between gastritis with reduced secretory function of the stomach (in everyday life they say - reduced acidity) and increased. In the first case, loss of appetite, weight loss, nausea and other symptoms are noted. With increased acidity, a person experiences pain after eating, at night, he is tormented by heartburn, belching, constipation. If you have such symptoms, do not postpone a visit to the clinic under any circumstances.
Why there is a gastritis?
As already noted, gastritis is quitea common disease characterized by inflammation of the gastric mucosa. This can be caused by a number of reasons. However, most often the disease is caused by the bacterium Helicobacter pylori. But this is usually preceded by dietary disorders, stress, alcohol abuse, and smoking. Some medications also have a negative effect on the gastric mucosa. In particular, aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, for example, the diclofenac group. They all contain acids that have a negative effect on the stomach. Under the influence of these factors, the mucosa becomes very vulnerable, and the aforementioned bacterium aggravates the disease in a short time. By the way, the involvement of the bacterium Helicobacter pylori in the development of gastritis was discovered relatively recently. Research conducted by medical scientists has radically changed approaches to the treatment of diseases such as erosive gastritis, ulcers, and stomach cancer. And one more reason causing gastritis that I would like to mention is the increased aggressiveness of the immune system. In this case, the immune system does not suppress pathogenic microbes, but fights against its own body, destroying cells. These are the so-called autoimmune diseases.
Symptoms of gastritis
Symptoms that indicate problems withstomach, this is pain (on an empty stomach or after eating), nausea, vomiting, problems with stool (constipation, diarrhea). If such signs appear, you should immediately go to the doctor, who will conduct an appropriate examination and prescribe adequate treatment. Attention: sometimes gastritis occurs without pronounced symptoms, so you need to monitor your health and at the slightest discomfort in the gastrointestinal tract, go to the clinic. The sooner the treatment begins, the faster and easier it is to get rid of this unpleasant disease.
More on erosive gastritis
Usually the condition of patients with erosivegastritis is quite severe. As a rule, they complain of discomfort in the upper abdomen. Severe pain and the appearance of blood in the gastric contents are the first serious signs of acute erosive gastritis. Another symptom is dark, almost black stool, indicating that there is internal bleeding. Treatment of erosive gastritis is carried out in a hospital setting. In most cases, patients can be cured. An important role in this matter is played by timely treatment by a doctor, a correct diagnosis and adequate treatment of erosive gastritis. However, in severe cases with severe bleeding, everything can end in death. Gastric bleeding with erosive gastritis most often occurs due to increased permeability of the gastric vessels and damage to the mucous membrane, and this does not mean the superficial layer, but deep lesions. In general, hemorrhagic gastritis is the most dangerous stage of the disease and treatment should be carried out only in a hospital. Erosive gastritis is a serious enough disease and should not be taken lightly under any circumstances. As already noted, at the first symptoms of the disease, you should definitely visit a specialist doctor who will make a correct diagnosis and prescribe adequate treatment. Self-medication is out of the question. Only a doctor can select the appropriate medications based on a complete anamnesis. Advice from friends and acquaintances who have been treated for erosive gastritis should be prohibited. The selection of medications is the prerogative of a doctor and only a doctor.
Eating with erosive gastritis
Proper diet, balanced menu– an important component of treatment for gastritis. After all, the disease itself often occurs as a result of nutritional disorders. There are a number of rules that all people suffering from gastritis must follow.
- Fractional food - at least 6 times.
- Small portions.
- Thorough chewing.
- Exclude fried, salty, spicy dishes.
- Food should not be too hot, but not too cold.
- Exclude all gross, gastric irritating food. Priority is given to mashed, puree dishes.
In case of gastritis it is necessary to completely exclude fromyour menu alcohol, carbonated drinks, coffee, as well as smoked meats, canned goods, rich meat broths, fatty meat. By adhering to these simple rules, you can quickly cope with the disease. Nutrition for erosive gastritis, as already noted, is a very important component of treatment. But at the same time, you cannot do without special medications that help protect the gastric mucosa and defeat this rather serious disease.
Treatment of gastritis with traditional medicine
Traditional healers treat gastritis with the help ofphytotherapy. And such treatment certainly has the right to exist. However, we would like to emphasize right away that it is hardly possible to cure gastritis with folk remedies alone. They are good as a supplement to drug treatment. In addition to herbs, folk medicine also has bee products, which also have a beneficial effect on the condition of the gastric mucosa. These include, in particular, aqueous solutions of honey and propolis. With low acidity, honey dissolved in cold water is taken before meals - it stimulates the secretion of gastric juice. If acidity is high, a warm honey solution is indicated. Propolis and royal jelly also have a beneficial effect on a sick stomach. However, all these treatment methods should be discussed with your doctor. And of course, they are contraindicated for people who have an allergic reaction to bee products. We recommend reading:
