Secrets of decoration from decorators

Professional decorators have regularTransparent vases have long been a source of inspiration. Among all fashionable materials, transparent glass is the leader for a reason. Of course, the influence of minimalism is felt, because today conciseness and transparency are in fashion. Such vases can decorate any interior, but most importantly, they represent an unplowed field for experiments! This is the most flexible material for decor, the main thing is to correctly emphasize its two advantages: transparency and lightness. When choosing transparent vases for the interior, do not forget that the size of such decor should be proportional to the plane where it is located:

  • If the table is large, one large vase or a composition of several small vases, different in size, will look better on it;
  • A bedside table or coffee table will be decorated with vases of different shapes and heights;
  • Dining table rectangular shape will look much more impressive with the same vases, placed in a row, you can fill them with different fillers;
  • The transparent vase is an element of laconic style, and it will be inappropriate to look in space with numerous bright and small objects or a room with a classic decor.

We decorate the vase: decoupage on glass

You will need an unremarkable glassvase, three-layer napkin with flowers, wide brush, acrylic varnish, white rice paper, scissors, water, acetone and sandpaper. First of all, it is necessary to prepare the surface of the vase for the upcoming decoupage. To do this, it must be thoroughly degreased with acetone. Now the entire surface of the vase must be primed with acrylic primer. Those who are particularly thrifty can apply acrylic varnish to the glass instead, which will serve as a primer. The next step is to decorate the entire vase with rice paper. First, tear (tear, do not cut, this is important!) small pieces and glue them to the surface of the vase. If the surface is convex, it is better to tear the paper a little at the top and bottom so that it fits tightly. Leave our decor to dry. After our workpiece has dried, sand down all the resulting irregularities with sandpaper. If you can’t do it neatly, no problem. Glue the holes with rice paper fibers and acrylic varnish. Take a napkin you have chosen in advance and remove the two white layers by peeling them off, we will not need them. Cut the colored part into several pieces to avoid unnecessary folds and cut out the pattern. Now we move on to the most important stage: decorating the vase with a napkin. There are two ways to glue the surface: you can immediately glue the napkin with acrylic varnish, but if you have little experience in decoupage, it is better to first glue the napkin with water, and after it dries, cover the finished product with varnish. Try not to rush and lay the napkin as smoothly as possible. Of course, you can sand down the uneven areas after drying, but the pattern may be ruined. After the vase is pasted with napkins and covered with acrylic varnish, our decoration can be considered complete. Just wait until the varnish dries completely before using the product for its intended purpose. Such a vase with decor can serve as a great gift for your loved ones.

A very simple way to decorate a vase: a mosaic of beads

This DIY vase decor looks veryoriginal. It is better if the vases with mosaics are round, but this is not essential. You will need glass beads (single-color or multi-colored - at your discretion), glue or a hot glue gun, plaster. The whole procedure does not take much time. Glue the glass beads to the vase, starting from the bottom and gradually moving up. If the beads are of different sizes, try to select them in such a way that the space between them is as small as possible. When the vase is completely covered with beads, you can leave it like this, it already becomes an excellent decor for the room, but we continue. Prepare the plaster and apply it to the outside of the vase, completely covering the beads. After leveling the surface, clean the beads from the plaster with a soft cloth and put the vase to dry. The final touch is to apply acrylic varnish to the entire surface of the vase, this will help protect the plaster when water gets on it.decorate the vase with your own hands

Decoration of a vase with lace

A vase decorated in this way becomesvery delicate, and no one will remember that it used to look different. Take an old vase and paint it with gold paint. In principle, you can choose a different color, focusing on your preferences and the interior where it will be located. After the paint has dried, take a piece of any lace fabric and wrap it tightly around the vase. At the top near the neck, either tie the fabric or secure it with an elastic band, it is important for us that the lace does not move in the future. Now take a spray can of paint of a different color (preferably lighter than the base) and paint our vase again. Do this carefully, trying not to move the lace from its place. Remove the fabric after the paint has completely dried. The final step is to finish drawing the border of the upper and lower edges of the vase with the paint that we had for the base. That's it, the original and beautiful decoration is ready! Remember, there are two main elements for decorating: your imagination and glue. Vases decorated with natural materials look great: twigs or sticks. Plant the twigs like standing pencils on hot glue, and remove the excess length. It will take very little time, and your interior will have a new work of art.
