For some reason, many housewives, having in their kitchenarsenal, a microwave oven, they use it only for heating or defrosting food. Meanwhile, fish and meat, porridge and soups are cooked in microwaves, and even the simplest microwaves can replace an oven, for example, for baking, for making soufflés or casseroles. At the same time, the cooking time is reduced several times, and the dishes are no worse than in the oven. Try, for example, making a potato casserole. Potato casserole in the microwave can be so diverse that you are simply amazed. However, see for yourself by trying to cook this dish with minced meat, cheese, chicken, sausage or vegetables.
Baked meat casserole
Ingredients:
- Minced meat - 200 g
- Onion - 1 head
- Potatoes - 4 pieces
- Eggs - 2 pieces
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Milk - 2 tablespoons
- Tomato paste - 1 tablespoon
- Green parsley (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Salt and black pepper to your taste
Preparation:First, wash, peel and cut the potatoes into small cubes. Then put the potatoes in a microwave-safe pan, add a couple of tablespoons of water, cover with a lid and put in the oven for five minutes. The microwave power is 800 W. Meanwhile, let's start making the minced meat for the casserole. Put it in a bowl, add some ground black pepper and salt to taste, and add tomato paste and chopped onion. Add one or two tablespoons of water and mix the onion with the minced meat and tomato paste. Now take a low but wide dish (glass or plastic) and put the potatoes in it. Level the layer and put the prepared minced meat on top, which we also distribute in an even layer. The height of the casserole should be no more than five centimeters, otherwise it will not heat up well. All that's left is to pour the eggs beaten with milk over everything and put the casserole in the oven for five to seven minutes at 800 W. Let the finished casserole sit for about five minutes, sprinkle it with chopped herbs and serve. You can serve sour cream, mayonnaise or ketchup as a sauce for the potato casserole with minced meat - whatever you like.
Casserole with cheese
Ingredients:
- 700 g of potatoes
- 100 g of cheese (solid)
- A glass of fat cream
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil
- Salt and black pepper at your discretion
Preparation:Wash and peel the potatoes, then cut them into thin circles. Pass the cheese through a fine grater, turning it into crumbs. Then grease a microwave-safe dish (preferably glass) with vegetable oil and put half of the potatoes in it. Sprinkle the potatoes with half of the grated cheese and grease with half of the cream. Repeat in the same order: potatoes, cheese, cream. Now salt and pepper our casserole and send it to the microwave, where it should cook at a power of 600 W for about ten minutes. After this time, take the casserole out, grease with butter and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Increase the oven power to 800-850 W and bake the potatoes with cheese for another five minutes.
Casserole with chicken
Ingredients:
- Potatoes - 3-4 pieces of medium size
- Chicken fillet - 100 or 150 g
- Onion - 1 head
- Salt and black pepper - at your discretion
- Mayonnaise or swept 2 tablespoons
- Grated cheese - 1 tablespoon
Preparation:Wash and peel the potatoes, cut them into not too thin slices, chop the onion or cut it into rings (half rings). Mix the potatoes with the onion, sprinkle with salt and pepper, add mayonnaise, mix well and put exactly half of the prepared mixture into a microwave-safe dish. Cut the chicken fillet (without skin) into small pieces, beat lightly and also sprinkle with salt and ground black pepper. After that, evenly spread the chicken meat over a layer of potatoes and onions. Put the second half of the potato-onion mixture on top, tamp (without fanaticism!) the layers and put them in the microwave, which we turn on at full power. Cook the casserole for about fifteen minutes, then take it out, sprinkle with cheese and put it back in the oven for three to four minutes.
Casserole with sausage
Ingredients:
- 6 pieces of potato medium size
- 200 g any sausage or ham
- Half a glass of fresh milk
- Half a glass of cream
- 3 eggs
- 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 clove of garlic
- Nutmeg, lemon and black pepper, salt at your discretion
Preparation:As expected, wash, peel and cut the potatoes into thin slices. Cut the sausage or hot dogs (ham) into small cubes or strips and put them in a bowl. Beat the eggs with cream and milk and add the garlic, crushed with salt, and spices (nutmeg, lemon pepper, ground black pepper) to this mixture. Grease a baking dish (not a metal one!) with butter and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Then put the potatoes and sausage in it one by one, in several layers, greasing each layer with the egg-milk mixture. Pour the rest of the filling onto the last layer (it is better if it is potatoes) and put in the butter, cut into pieces. Cover the dish with a lid or a plate and put it in the microwave for twenty minutes, turning on the microwave at full power. When the timer goes off, remove the lid from the pan, reduce the power to medium and turn on the oven for another three minutes. Serve with fresh herbs or vegetable salad.
Casserole with vegetables
Ingredients:
- Potato
- Sweet Bulgarian pepper
- Courgettes
- Tomatoes
- Mayonnaise or sour cream
- Salt, coriander, black pepper
Preparation:Let's make it clear right away that the exact proportions are not specified in the recipe, since this is not of fundamental importance. The only thing to consider is that potatoes should be about half of the total amount of vegetables. After all, we are preparing a potato casserole. So, wash, peel and slice the potatoes, season with mayonnaise or sour cream, add salt, pepper and coriander. Wash and cut the remaining vegetables as well: peppers into rings, zucchini and tomatoes into circles. Keep in mind that the thinner you cut the vegetables, the juicier your casserole will be. Now put a layer of potatoes and alternate layers of vegetables in a greased glass or plastic dish. Assemble the casserole from several such layers (potatoes - vegetables) or even limit yourself to one layer if you take a small amount of vegetables. Cook the dish at full microwave power for fifteen to twenty minutes. Choose a recipe, master the microwave and cook casseroles and other interesting dishes in it. Cook with pleasure, and bon appetit!
