Belching during pregnancy: probable causes

During the period of bearing a child in the bodywomen undergo serious hormonal changes. In most cases, they cause air to escape from the stomach. Severe belching during pregnancy is typical for the third trimester, since the huge uterus exerts significant pressure on the stomach, changing its position. There are other reasons for belching in pregnant women. These are:

  • conversation during the meal. Swallowed excess air leaves the stomach in a natural way;
  • poor chewing of food. If a woman rushes during a meal and swallows large chunks, then this will inevitably lead to disruption of the digestive process. Poorly digested food will ferment and give off extra gas;
  • certain posture that a pregnant woman takes after eating can also provoke belching;
  • large amount of sweets. Frequent belching during pregnancy can be triggered by ordinary sweets. The same effect can have sweet soda;
  • inclusion in the diet of gas-forming products. These are cabbage, beans, grapes and bananas;
  • sour berries and dishes quite often cause belching in pregnant women;
  • smoking and marinades. Products and dishes from this category can also provoke the discharge of air from the stomach;
  • A large amount of starchy food - pasta, potatoes, bread, cereals.

Do not exclude the chronic diseases of the digestive tract, which were present in a woman before the onset of pregnancy.
