There is currently no specific treatment regimen for HPV.(human papillomavirus). The choice of a specific method of therapy depends on the type of disease, stage of development and a number of other factors. In almost all cases, modern treatment is aimed only at eliminating the manifestations of this infection, but not at eliminating it from the body. Treatment of genital warts is best carried out only when they are rapidly increasing in size, are in a visible place and become painful. Therapy for this disease is carried out by such basic methods as cryotherapy (using liquid nitrogen), electrocoagulation (using electric current) and other methods. The human papillomavirus can be in a woman's body for many years without showing itself at all, but at the same time its "host" is constantly at risk of developing cancer and precancerous diseases.
Mechanical treatment
The main treatment for the papilloma virus is mechanical removal. You can get rid of it using the following methods:
- Cryodestruction. It involves the use of liquid nitrogen;
- Laser therapy. The human papilloma virus in the form of warts is removed by means of a laser;
- Radio wave coagulation. This cure with a radio wave knife.
- Electrocoagulation. This method involves the use of an electric current.
The surgical method is practically not used todayis used because there is a risk of bleeding in the postoperative period. Chemical therapy is also not recommended because it does not always bring a positive effect. It is impossible to cure such a disease completely, even after treatment it remains in the body, which can lead to a relapse of the disease. A combination of antiviral and other types of treatment is used against the risk of relapse.
Medication
A specific antiviral drug has not yet been developed.treatment, so a person can get rid of this disease with the help of drugs that stimulate the body's fight against it. It can be treated with such drugs as:
- rectal suppositories, cream and ointments;
- injections and pills.
This disease can be cured with the following medications:
- Isoprinosine is a drug that blocks the virus from reproducing and increases the activity of immune cells to fight it;
- interferons are tablets that have antiviral, immunostimulating and antitumor effects;
- tablets that promote the production of one's own interferons - also have anti-inflammatory, immunostimulating and antitumor effects;
- creams and solutions that inhibit the division of cells affected by human papillomavirus.
The above mentioned medicines and tabletsdifferent people can have different effects. Treating the human papillomavirus with these methods does not guarantee a 100% recovery result. People can use different types of therapy. Women suffer from this disease more often than men. Medication treatment is usually recommended for women. Mechanical therapy is offered to men only if they have condylomas.
