Is it harmful for pregnancy?Photo: Getty Images There is an opinion that the harm of ultrasound is scientifically proven. But the latest research on this topic was carried out in the 70's, when the equipment left much to be desired, and the radiation power was much higher than now. However, at that time the only proof of "harm" was not particularly convincing: a large number of left-handed men among those whose mothers did U.I. To understand how this survey can be harmful or useful, it is worthwhile to understand how the devices work. If simplified, the sensor beeps, which are not audible to the ear of an adult. These signals are reflected from the internal organs and return back, transforming into electrical ones, which display the image on the screen. The frequency of the waves emitted by the apparatus can be adjusted. 3D and 4D studies require a much higher frequency of waves, so it is better not to abuse these species. Moreover, there is no serious need for them, all pathologies will show the standard 2D-US. Potential harm to ultrasound during pregnancy does not give rest to scientists. So, there is one more argument against this study. According to P.P. Garyaeva, ultrasound can lead to mutations. However, his arguments are not particularly heeded, because, among other things, he argued that the child's genetic code carries information about the mother's past partners, and the destroyed cells can be restored by prayers ... But the Yale University experiment is often cited. Ultrasound was done in pregnant mice, and although there were no external pathologies in their offspring, some neurons did not move to the appropriate place in the cerebral cortex. However, in this case, the mice were subjected to ultrasound examination for 30 minutes, future mothers are usually given no more than 10 minutes. It turns out that the damage to ultrasound is not really proved. And to date it is still one of the few ways in the early days to find out what pathologies are possible for a future child and, if necessary or possible, to take timely measures to eliminate them. However, experts still do not recommend to abuse this type of research and pass it only on indications. When pregnancy proceeds normally, only three ultrasound are needed - one for each trimester. The first meeting with the baby is better to postpone until the tenth week.
