Beautiful, stunning, sexy,Desirable! Caring, affectionate, kind, with a smile on her sweet face! The first epithets a woman corresponds to in the eyes of her husband, the second - in the eyes of her child. Young mothers devote themselves to their baby day and night, because they breastfeed him. Although at night it would not hurt to give a part of yourself to your faithful spouse. But what to do when breastfeeding a child is now in the first place for a woman, and birth control pills for nursing mothers still do not want to ignore? A healthy mother - a healthy baby! This motto is relevant for the entire lactation period. The issue of the baby's health takes first place when a mother thinks about contraception during breastfeeding. Are all contraceptives for nursing mothers safe and effective today?
Lactation is not always a protection
Let's dispel the myth that during the feeding periodbreastfeeding (and this can be up to 2 years) is completely impossible to get pregnant. It is possible, and even the woman herself may not know this, but feel it when the baby starts to move inside. We would not like to scare anyone with such sayings, so now facts enter our story. In 1988, a study was conducted in Italy on the effect of lactation on ovulation, and medical scientists discovered that breastfeeding will be a contraceptive by 98% (!) in the event that:
- the baby feeds only on the breast, without getting any food;
- the baby is not older than 6 months;
- intervals between feedings are no more than 4 hours;
- my mother did not start menstruating.
If any of these points in a mother's life, well, andbaby will change, of course, then the woman will be able to get pregnant. However, this does not mean that the mother will be forced to stop breastfeeding. The latest studies summarize that ovulation occurs 3 months after birth in 18% of nursing mothers, after 6 months - already in 43%. This means that women during the lactation period can still get pregnant again and still need contraception.
Choose a contraceptive
First of all, the following are neededcontraceptive pills that will not affect milk secretion and will not interrupt breastfeeding. In this case, combined oral contraceptive pills (COC) are absolutely not suitable. After all, their effect on the infant and nursing mother has not yet been fully studied. Young mothers need a drug that will not affect milk production, lactation volumes, or the health of the baby and will provide effective protection. According to the latest research, milk secretion is not suppressed by those contraceptives that contain analogues of the hormone progesterone, known to all as "mini-pills". The hormone progesterone in these pills does not affect the volume of breast milk production, but can pass into it in very small quantities. An important nuance! To avoid the effect of such contraceptives on the child's liver, mini-pills are recommended to be taken only 6-8 weeks after childbirth, regularly at the same time. A delay of more than 3 hours in taking the pill will reduce the contraceptive barrier or lead to its complete disappearance. If the time of regular taking was missed by more than 3 hours, additional contraception will be needed for the next 48 hours! If you miss a whole day, you should take two pills: the missed pill and the next one on the schedule, etc. And, of course, in this case, do not forget about additional protection - a condom. The secret of the mini-pill is that the uterine mucosa thickens under their influence and literally does not allow sperm to pass. But even if fertilization with the help of one "nimble element" occurred, then the same thickened uterine mucosa simply will not allow the fertilized egg to attach to itself, whose shell will also change under the influence of the mini-pill. Today, pharmacies offer several contraceptives (mini-pills) for nursing mothers to choose from:
- "Excluton",
- "Ovret",
- "Microlute",
- "Micronor",
- "Femulen",
- «Cherosetta»,
- "Laktinet",
- "Norkolut",
- "Continuin".
The use of modern methods of contraception, inIn particular, contraceptive pills, for breastfeeding mothers are a quality additional means to the contraceptive effect of breastfeeding and reduce the occurrence of unwanted pregnancy to zero. But no one has yet canceled a doctor's consultation before use! Be healthy!
