When is an aspirin prescribed for pregnancy?

Side effects of the drug during pregnancyare associated with normal doses of intake, which are more than 300 mg per day. For a pregnant woman, the drug is prescribed in special cases in minimal doses not exceeding 100 mg per day. Aspirin in such a dosage is prescribed by a doctor for:

  • Increased blood clotting and thrombophlebitis. The medicine improves blood circulation, dilutes blood and prevents the appearance of blood clots.
  • Varicose veins. The drug dilutes the blood and facilitates the course of the disease. But doctors still try to prescribe more safe means for pregnant women and recommend using more blood-thinning products - kiwi, cranberries, tomatoes, greens, carrots, beets, ginger.
  • Placental insufficiency. The drug normalizes blood flow and oxygen supply to the baby, prevents early aging of the placenta.
  • Heavy form of late toxicosis, associated with increased blood pressure.
  • Rheumatic diseases.

The drug helps to reduce the viscosity of the blood toto protect the future mother and baby from serious cardiovascular complications. But if possible, aspirin is replaced with safer drugs. To avoid aspirin during pregnancy, it is important to take it strictly according to the prescription of the doctor and in the minimum dosage.
