Gym rules for young children
Proper gymnastics will strengthen the baby's speech apparatus and help him speak clearly and distinctly. You can start such gymnastics as early as 2 years old.Articulation gymnastics for a 2-year-old child takes the form of a game Photo: Getty Here's what you need to know before you start classes:
- Duration of lesson should not exceed 10 minutes. At first, training should last only 1-2 minutes, until the baby gets used to it.
- Per session 4-5 exercises, do not rush the crumb.
- During the workout, put the child in front of the mirror so that he can see his tongue.
- Help your child to perform complex movements with a special stick or a teaspoon handle.
- Constantly monitor the exercise technique.
Remember that gymnastics should be systematic. Teach yourself and your child that you will do it regularly. If you do it occasionally, there will be no result.
Articulation gymnastics exercises for children 2 years
There are many exercises for developing the speech apparatus. Here are some examples:
- Spatula. The mouth is wide open. The relaxed tongue "rests" on the lower lip. The position must be held for 8 seconds.
- Trunk. The lips are closed as a tube and strongly elongated. Position you need to hold 5-10 seconds.
- Clock. Mouth ajar, child smiles. Tense tongue to touch alternately the right and left corner of the lips. The change of position is performed under a rhythmic score.
- Where's the candy? The mouth is closed. Language need to push it in one, then the other cheek.
- Ball. It is necessary to inflate and blow off the cheeks. If it does not work, help with light pressure on the cheeks with your hands. After the child has mastered it, let him inflate his cheeks alternately.
- House. The mouth is a house. Let the child open the house, show his tongue and hide it again.
- Spaghetti. Ask the child to draw in spaghetti lips.
- Chupa Chups. Let the child lick the lollipop from different sides, and then in a circle.
- Wand. Any stick, for example, a sweet straw, is fixed between the nose and the upper lip, like a mustache. Position must be held for about 10 seconds.
Try to alternate exercises all the time, change their sequence so that the child does not get bored and continues to study with pleasure. If speech development is difficult, contact a speech therapist. He will adjust the exercises you give to the child and, if necessary, prescribe a special massage.
