Following Rimsky-Korsakov, who glorified flightbumblebee, designer Jeffrey Mann decided to immortalize the flight of a moth. To do this, at a long exposure, he filmed the unfortunate insect fluttering at a burning light bulb, then digitized the trajectory of movement, built a volumetric model out of wire, and finally made a lampshade based on it. Jeffrey did such a titanic job for a reason: the result is striking with an intricate form in the spirit of Zaha Hadid. Only now I feel sorry for the butterfly. www.mrmann.co.uk Flying mothFlying moth
