Ethnic style in the interior suggeststhe creation of space using elements and objects peculiar to a certain nationality or nationality: African, European, Eastern, Australian. And if taken more narrowly, the ethnic style can be divided into the following subspecies: African, Mediterranean, Indian, Japanese and Scandinavian. Separately, one can single out English, French, Italian. An ethnic-style room can be decorated either fully or partially using separate parts. For example, the interior can be made in the style of minimalism with the addition of carpet, vases, paintings and other items from Africa or India. The only taboo: to mix several ethnic styles is not recommended. Otherwise, the space will look too cluttered or resemble a museum.

Designers, as if selected, are trying to introduce Moroccan and Egyptian motifs into the spaces of ordinary residential buildings. The interior in the African style is characterized by its color, originality and contrast. On the one hand, there is minimalism and simple forms. On the other hand, there is roughness of textures and primitivism. The main colors of the African style are all shades of sand, earth, fire and jungle, that is, gold, ocher, terracotta, brick, red, brown, black, swamp, green. White and blue tones may also be present, but only as an addition. The material should be natural, such as reed, bamboo, leather, clay, bark, animal skin.
Mediterranean style

The main color of the interior is white, successfully complemented by details of yellow, blue, red. The central place in the room - living room or dining room - should be occupied by a table (preferably made of wood), which is placed in the center of the space. In general, the apartment should be light, airy and uncluttered. Even when decorating the space, you should use only the most necessary things.

The main colors are complex tones of crimson, orange, ocher, turquoise. Gold or silver shades must be present. It is also desirable that the room have as much textiles with Indian ornaments and antique furniture as possible. Such decorative elements as fresh flowers, plants, figurines of birds and animals, paintings and photographs of female figures and, of course, scented candles will also be appropriate.

Most often, the Japanese use such combinations as black and white, wenge and light beige. There should be a minimum of furniture, and it should be low; things and household utensils are removed; accessories and decorative elements are absent. If possible, it is better to separate functional areas in the room not with walls, but with screens, curtains or differences in floor level.

Decorative elements can be anything, but they should create coziness and warmth. Warm blankets, bright pillows, indoor plants, wooden photo frames are suitable for this. Recently, the Scandinavian style in the interior (it is also called organic) has become especially popular in Russia, especially in country houses.
