There is an opinion that the best underwear issilk. This is not entirely true. Of course, silk looks luxurious, but it is slippery and cold, so not everyone likes to sleep on it. Most expensive sets are made of satin. It also has a noble shine, is pleasant to the touch and is easily smoothed out after washing. Linen is also made of cambric, calico, chintz, flannel and percale. The price of the fabric depends not only on the dressing, but also on the quality of the cotton: long-staple Egyptian is considered the best, raw materials from Turkey, India and Pakistan are quoted lower. Another common "bed" material is flax; sometimes the same cotton is mixed with it (to make it wrinkle less). One of the latest innovations is linen made of lyocell (eucalyptus tree cellulose). It is soft, velvety and does not require ironing.

The lowest density (20-30 threads per square cm) is found in cambric; linen made from it turns out beautiful, but its service life is short; it is better to use it only on holidays. Low density (35-40) - is found in cheap cotton and linen. Average (50-65) and even higher than average (65-80) - is found in expensive cotton and linen, as well as in synthetics. Percale, Chinese silk and satin have a high density (85-120). The highest index (130-280) - for glossy satin and Japanese silk.
Hygienic question
Of course, good fabric should not fade, andnevertheless… Before sending pillowcases and duvet covers to the wash, it is better to turn them inside out; it is advisable to use a mild detergent with a minimum of bleaching additives. These precautions will help to preserve the brightness of the colors. Do not overdry the linen - it is much easier to iron slightly damp fabric. If the set is decorated with embroidery or Richelieu, then it should be ironed not only from the front, but also from the back. To prevent the fabric from losing its breathability after a close acquaintance with a hot iron, you should put a terry towel under it. Silk linen requires special handling: it cannot be machine washed or wrung out.
