Nastya Chernitsina, 8 years old, winner of the contest "Little Miss Yekaterinburg - 2017"
Mom Marina says:– This is Nastya’s first beauty contest. Two years ago, she saw an adult contest and wanted to take part in it. I told her that there are similar ones for children, and she immediately said that she definitely had to try. But we were either leaving or getting sick – in short, we only got to the casting on the third try. We attended all the classes three times a week after school. There were also events on weekends. We even got dad involved in one: the whole family cooked breakfast in the children’s cafe of the Yeltsin Center. We also made pelmeni, and then ate them (laughs). During the 1.5 months of preparation for “Little Miss Yekaterinburg”, the children studied choreography, fashion show, talked to psychologists, and speech specialists taught them diction. There were many master classes where they could prove themselves. For example, at one, the girls tried to become stylists: they picked out clothes for their mothers in a clothing store. Nastya knows what I wear, so I stuck to styles and silhouettes that were close to me, but the colors were to her taste. She recommended a leather skirt just below the knee, a blouse, earrings in the same color, and a handbag.1/9Nastya at the contest "Little MissYekaterinburg – 2017» Photo: Andrey KuskaloPhoto: Andrey KuskaloPhoto: personal archive of the Chernitsyn familyPhoto: bureau of the contest «Little Miss Yekaterinburg – 2017»Photo: personal archive of the Chernitsyn familyPhoto: personal archive of the Chernitsyn familyPhoto: personal archive of the Chernitsyn familyPhoto: personal archive of the Chernitsyn familyPhoto: personal archive of the Chernitsyn familyNastya’s eyes were shining, she was excited, so she tried very hard to do everything well. She even rehearsed dances for the final at home. She studies at the Diaghilev Lyceum in the choreography department, so dancing is her strong point. And still, I psychologically prepared my daughter for the fact that she might not win, and I kept telling her that participation was already an opportunity to learn something new, to make new friends. And that’s what happened: we still keep in touch with many of the contestants. In general, everyone was friendly, no one offended anyone. On the contrary, the older ones helped the younger ones, hugged them all the time. At the final, grandparents, relatives, the choreographer who staged the dance for the casting, classmates and their parents came to cheer for us... They overwhelmed us with congratulations when they announced that it was Nastya who won the main prize - a weekend in Paris. Now many say that children's beauty contests are traumatic for a child. But I think that in our case, the experience was useful: before, Nastya had stage fright and fear of performances, but now I see that it is much easier for her.
Katya Alekseeva, 5 years old, “Little Miss Yekaterinburg – 2017 according to Woman`s Day”
Mom Tatyana says:– Katya studies at a modeling school that organizes the competition, so she is participating in it for the second time. Last year, I suggested that she try herself, and she liked it so much that this year she was the first to run to the casting! Katya won the title of “Baby Miss” and “Little Miss Yekaterinburg – 2017 according to Woman`s Day”. She is extremely happy: she even wears her crown to kindergarten, bragging (laughs). But, of course, after the final, she asked the usual children's questions: “Why didn’t I win?” I tried to explain that she was the best in her age category. So we intend to continue participating in the competition until we win the main category.1/8Katya at the "Little Miss" contestYekaterinburg – 2017»Photo: personal archive of the Alekseev family Photo: personal archive of the Alekseev family Photo: Andrey KuskaloWith mother TatyanaPhoto: personal archive of the Alekseev family Photo: bureau of the contest «Little Miss Yekaterinburg – 2017»Photo: personal archive of the Alekseev family Photo: personal archive of the Alekseev family Photo: personal archive of the Alekseev family I don’t see anything bad in this: children communicate with each other, get used to beauty as an art. In addition, the classes are interesting: acting, etiquette, dancing... Most of all, Katya liked to stage scenes and learn movements on stage when all the contestants came out together. During the final, I stood backstage, helping my daughter change. I wasn’t worried at all: everything was familiar. After all, she walks the runway at a modeling school, goes on stage, so she has no fear of the audience. I was sure that Katya wouldn't get confused and wouldn't forget anything. She's a great girl!
