From the author

Frankly, the pleasure of walking with a child Ibegan to receive only a few months after his birth. I prefer not to remember the first forays into the world. In short, then: the child is impossible to scream, while I wore him and in every way swaddled. Then he screamed while I dressed myself. Then he yelled for a long time in the wheelchair. Sometimes I screamed all the hour and a half that we walked through the park ... As a responsible mother, I thought that the walk was being started in order to breathe fresh air, not exhaust gases and amber from a mountain of garbage bags near house territories, therefore I always climbed pretty far from the house. In general, sometimes it happened that all the hour and a half that we “walked”, I roared. As I remember, I tremble. But the difficult period is over, now I am a “pumped over” mother, and a walk with a child is a favorite ritual for me, honed to the smallest detail.

Build a route

Ideally, this place should be removed frombusy roads. Some mothers solve the problem very simply: put the stroller on the balcony. But there are several dangerous moments here. First, there is always the possibility that cigarette butts or other objects thrown by "educated" neighbors from the upper floors will fly into the pram. Secondly, there is not always enough fresh air on the balcony - for example, if not all windows open. Thirdly, the balcony can be trite and cluttered up with dust. And besides, there is quite difficult to navigate the temperature regime, and many mothers either muffle their babies too much or, on the contrary, are undernaught. So it is better, choosing a place for a walk with a child, give preference to a park or a public garden. What you need to walk with the childPhoto: GettyImages

Forethought and order

Before you go for a walk,Orient on the weather. If it is likely that it will rain, grab a rain cover for the stroller so that the baby does not get wet. If the weather is great, but you are walking in the city, then a special mesh for a stroller, which will protect you from the city dust and insects, will not interfere. Then get dressed. First, mom, otherwise the baby sweat. So, hysterics, to the accompaniment of which you will have to stretch jeans, is inevitable. As a result, the exhausted nerves of both the mother and the child, and the latter also, God forbid, catch a cold, once on the street.

What is with you?

First of all, convenience.Since you have to carry quite a lot with you (I say, in terms of scale it is like a small expedition), you can buy in advance a special bag for walking, which will compactly accommodate essential items. Such a bag is often included with the stroller and is attached either to its handle, or is located in the lower net under the carrycot. However, any trivial backpack will do, the main thing is that it is roomy. So, we take it with us. For a child— A couple of diapers, wet and dry wipes (in case of a collapse on the way) .— A bottle with a mixture. Life hack. Today on sale there are special very compact thermal bags for bottles, which will keep the contents of this very bottle warm during the entire walk. - Pacifier. Lifehack. The nipple falls constantly and gets dirty accordingly. The nipple clip is a very useful invention. It is conveniently attached to a child's jacket or any other outer clothing and solves problems with constant rinsing of the nipple. - Plaid. You will move and, most likely, you personally will not need additional insulation. But the baby in the stroller will be practically motionless, which means that it may not be superfluous to cover him with a blanket. - Warm drink. Cook the compote in advance, pour it into a small thermos and do not forget to take a sippy cup or a bottle with you. - Rattle. There is a myth that all babies, once in the fresh air, are immediately cut down under the influence of oxygen. But this does not always happen and not for everyone. Lying / sitting in the stroller, the baby may prefer to watch the leaves and branches moving in the wind, animals running by and new people. And sometimes he can just lie and scream heart-rendingly - that's how lucky you are. Take a rattle to distract him, if necessary. For yourself— A light snack in the form of a fruit or a sandwich (sometimes walks take up to 2–2.5 hours). — Warm drink. It is possible in a thermo mug. For your own convenience, buy a special cup holder that attaches to the stroller handle. And you don't have to hold the glass in your hand all the time. - The book (or its audio version). It can be anything: a classic, parenting manual, or a self-help book. Read as much as possible so as not to thoroughly "waste away" on maternity leave. - Jump rope (read more about this below). What you need to walk with the childPhoto: GettyImages

Walk as a way to get back in shape quickly.

As soon as I set up an approximate scheme of calm andcomfortable walks, I decided to go ahead and turn them into a real gymnastics session. In Instagram, I just watched one mom, who regularly posted videos of simple exercises she did without getting away from the wheelchair! So for some time now I always take with me ... no, not a video camera, but a skipping rope. 30−40 minutes of pushing the stroller to the park and in the park, 10 minutes for simple exercises like moving your legs and arms, plus 15−20 minutes for a rope - here you have a full cardio training (personally, in this mode, I managed to completely regain my normal weight in 9 months and even lose an extra two kilos). I am in a good mood and ready and by deeds. And besides, it is at this time in the park that, as a rule, there are not very many people. But even if you cannot jump the rope, walking is still one of the most useful types of physical activity, even for young mothers who suffer from lack of sleep. See also:
