The rule "minus one"

Every mother has heard at least once in her life that wrapping upthe toddler is not allowed. Children have different thermoregulation than adults, which means it is much easier for a baby to sweat and catch a cold than for parents. But still, mothers make the same mistakes every time: they put on an extra sweater (“Just in case the wind blows”), a woolen hat, although it is the end of May outside... As a result, the poor child runs around the street all red and sweaty, wiping beads of sweat from his forehead. And you should see him in the locker room after a walk: his hair is wet, as if he had just taken a shower, and his T-shirt is so sore you could wring it out. I recommend that parents remember the “minus one” rule. That is, you dress your child in the same way as you dress yourself, but with one less layer of clothing.

Fleece - no, cotton - yes

Fleece undergarments are popular now,It is customary to wear under membrane outerwear. The fashion for such a combination came from Europe. For example, in Finland, many dress their children like this: the first layer is a synthetic sweater and tights, the second layer is a fleece set, and the third layer is a membrane overall. It is believed that in such clothing the child will not sweat, and therefore will not freeze. What's the catch? Often mothers do not maintain this balance, putting fleece over cotton clothes, and the children walk around wet! I advise you to give up fleece and other synthetic clothes in the spring and summer. Many years of experience show that there is nothing better than cotton. What to put on a kindergarten for a boy and a girlPhoto: Getty ImagesFooders do not notice if the baby is fashionably dressed, but we immediately see if the clothes are dirty

Shoes - strictly in size

It's already quite warm, but not dry enough yet –it's time to wear rubber boots. Make sure they are high, otherwise the child will scoop up water from a puddle. To prevent your feet from sweating, do not wear wool socks under rubber shoes; cotton ones will do just fine. If your child is cold, buy a warm insole and insert it into the boot. Leather sneakers and closed-heel sandals that fit snugly on the foot are suitable for the summer. A very important point: choose shoes strictly according to size. Of course, it is very practical to buy boots three centimeters larger, but the child cannot walk normally in them! In my practice, there was a case when a boy “lost” a boot in a snowdrift during a walk – it was too big and fell off his foot. We had to turn the whole group around and go back indoors. And another child could not participate in sports competitions because his sneakers were the wrong size and interfered with running. Believe me, this is very offensive for a child!

More socks

In summer, children switch to light clothing. It doesn't matter what you wear: thin pants, leggings, shorts, skirts, dresses, T-shirts, the main thing is that there are at least three pairs of socks in the locker. After all, in warm weather, children go for walks twice a day, and their socks become gray from dust and sand. Never put beach flip-flops on your children, they slip off while running, and the child can fall or twist their ankle. And remember that a child should not come to kindergarten without a hat. So stock up on cotton hats, caps, bandanas and panamas made of natural fabrics. This includes any uncomfortable clothing: skinny jeans, low-waisted trousers that expose the lower back when the child squats. These are clothes with a lot of buttons, fasteners, lace-up shoes, synthetic items and mittens.
