- Bylina is based on historical events thattook place in the real world. It deals with a real person at a particular time and his exploits. This genre extols the courage and brave deeds of the protagonist. The focus is usually the hero or warrior, who are glorified by special virtues and merits. In the epic storytelling creates and conveys the idea of heroic strength and valor.
- Fairy tale heroes are fictional characters. They are not connected with reality. This genre of folklore is entertaining and instructive, which is not the case in epics. The fairy tale plot is based on the struggle between good and evil, where magic takes place, and there is always a conclusion in the end.
- The style of the epic narrative is solemna song with a special rhythm. In order to convey the mood, its reading is accompanied by folk accompaniment. For this, musicians mainly use the gusli. Instrumental accompaniment allows you to preserve the poetic step and convey the artistic expressiveness of the work. The tale is told in a normal, conversational manner.
- Bylinas are performed in front of a wide audience, for example, in city squares. But a fairy tale is a story for a narrow circle, a home environment.
These are the main characteristics of the two genres thata child needs to know. Tell your child a fairy tale to entertain him. Or read a bylina to introduce him to an interesting person from the past.
