Photo: Vsevolod Eremin First months. Sleepy Kingdom After the baby and I arrived from the hospital, I was ready to wake up at night every two hours. Friendly, experienced friends-parents predicted that we will not have to sleep for six months. But, to my surprise, a few months the baby slept peacefully for 4-6 hours at night, without waking up for food. Several doctors told me in a chorus that it was wrong that the child should be awakened! To intimidate, they were frightened by a deficit in body weight. And I began to wake the sleeping baby! Every two hours the alarm clock rang, I tried to feed my little man. There is, of course, he refused, wake up too! But when I threw these attempts and herself was already beginning to fall asleep, the child began to toss and turn to ask for food. It was impossible to sleep! A little later, our personal doctor advised me not to tell anyone that the child is sleeping peacefully at night. You can just quietly rejoice and not torment yourself and the baby. So I did. So if your child is the same drowsy, enjoy this happiness. No one knows how long this sleepy mood will last. And the first conclusion I made is that it's never worth waking a child without good reason. The baby's dream is the greatest jewel, it is so fragile, it must be protected. Even adult people wake up in a much better mood if they do it themselves.Photo:Vsevolod Eremin Time of sleep and wakefulness In addition, in the very first months we made another important conclusion. If your baby misses bedtime, it can be much more difficult to get him to bed. Although, it would seem, the little man is tired and should fall asleep instantly. But an overexcited child often falls asleep very badly. If the daily sleep routine is disrupted, the child may be very capricious and will not fall asleep for a long time at night. Observe the sleep and wakefulness schedule in accordance with the child's age. There are generally accepted norms established by WHO. They can be easily found on the Internet. But remember that all children are individual. By observing your baby, you can more accurately determine after what time of wakefulness it is optimal to put him to bed. The main signs of fatigue are moods, irritability. The kid begins to rub his eyes, yawn, and his movements slow down, become insecure. And later, if outwardly it even seems that the child is still awake, by the hour you will be able to orientate more easily and not miss the sleepy mood. The biggest difficulty is that once you get used to one regime, it will start to change. In children under one year old, as they grow older, the daily need for sleep, the number and duration of daytime dreams change.
