God forbid that someone should survive what happened to25-year-old Englishwoman Gina Hodgkins. She recently returned home from the hospital with her beloved Teddy - in the family of Gina and her husband Joshua, the six-year-old daughter Amelia was growing up, and the couple so much wanted to have a son ... "We were so happy. Children prepared: one half we took Teddy, even a wall decorated with his name, "- says Gina.Photo: @ginahodgkinsPhoto:@ginahodgkinsThe boy was born on time, healthy and strong, he had a great appetite. However, there were problems with sleep: the baby woke up every now and then at night. Gina had to get up with him. Therefore, the young mother made up for her sleep during the day, falling asleep with the baby on the couch. One day, she woke up because seven police officers burst into the house. The men in uniform demanded that she give them the child. “I was crying, asking what happened. And they said that my husband and I were arrested on charges of child abuse,” says Gina. The baby was torn from his mother’s arms by force. Teddy and his older sister were taken away and given to a foster family. “It was terrible. The neighbors saw us being handcuffed in a police car. The children were crying. Amelia asked to go to her mother, and I had to explain to her why she couldn’t stay home. What could I tell her? After all, we never hurt our children!” Gina still remembers that day with horror. As it turned out, the nurse who came to examine Teddy complained about Gina to the police. She saw bruises on his face. “When Teddy was born, his arms and legs were covered in bruises. There was even a hemorrhage on his eye. I asked the doctor if this was normal. She assured me that these were all the injuries the baby received during birth, that everything was normal,” Gina explains.Photo: @ginahodgkinsThe bruises have really gone away. But new ones kept appearing. Gina noticed this every time she held her son upright after feeding. She supported Teddy's head by the chin, and bruises immediately appeared from under her fingers. So the nurse decided that the mother was beating her newborn son. It took Gina and Joshua five months to prove their innocence. In the end, it turned out that Teddy suffers from congenital vascular fragility. That is why he gets bruises at the slightest touch. The children were finally able to return home. "You have no idea what I went through. I missed five whole months of precious time that I should have spent with my son. He was deprived of breastfeeding. I was constantly afraid that the children would forget me, that Teddy would stop recognizing me," Gina says. The only apology the parents heard was from the judge who ruled in their favor. That same visiting nurse never apologized for her unprofessionalism.
