Often condemn those who behave differently. The parents and senior relatives are considered the authority. The children of preschool age have already formed a character, but with them it is easy to find a compromise. People around them either like them or they do not. With peers behave on an equal footing, they start talking, play. Girls in this period are emotionally stable, do not make hysterics, do not act up.

What Boys and Girls Should Know at 5 Years Old

At this age, children have many interests and hobbies, parents can only guide them and not overload them, otherwise the desire to study will disappear. By the age of 5, preschoolers have mastered:

  • numbers and count from 0 to 10;
  • simple geometric shapes;
  • letters and words;
  • colors and their shades;
  • days of the week, the name of the months and seasons.

Children can solve simple problems without any problemsand addition or subtraction problems within 2 units. Some read fluently, memorize poems and retell what they heard. They name all the seasons and months in order, describe objects, find connections between them, put together puzzles, assemble complex construction sets. In stories, they use the right intonation, use all forms of words. A child who is developed for his years should remember his first name, last name, address. Do not confuse the meaning of the concepts "today", "tomorrow", "yesterday". Some children already hold a pen or pencil well, master writing skills, draw lines on cells, sculpt from plasticine. Boys at this age are restless, but they are diligent, afraid of upsetting their parents. Household skills are no longer limited to cleaning up toys. A child can independently tell a shop assistant what he wants, water flowers, feed pets, wash shoes after a walk, take a shower, tie or untie shoelaces. Do not forget that a small "adult" still needs your help and support. Read with your child more often, go for walks, do not forget to praise for correct actions and punish for misbehavior. Teach him to treat elders with respect.
