Recommendations of pediatricians

When asked at what age girls are seated,Old-school doctors usually give a categorical answer: not earlier than six months. In this case, they base their opinion on the norms of child development developed back in the sixties, taking into account previous generations of residents of our country. Western pediatricians recommend focusing primarily on the child's characteristics. A small and active baby, born on time and actively developing, may well begin to master a new position at five months on her own or with the help of her parents, and another girl, obese and prone to "contemplation", is not ready to sit up even at 8 months. A signal that a child is ready to sit up: attempts, holding the hands of parents or surrounding objects, to take a semi-sitting or sitting position; efforts to sit down from a "on all fours" position. The baby can be distracted from the process if the parents believe that it is too early for her to sit down, you can remove the objects that help her sit down. But if the girl was able to sit down even without support, it means that her muscles and spine are ready for this and you should not interfere with her.

High chair, walkers, knees

Often parents, for their own reasons, comfortably seat your child on your lap or on a chair even when the child is not yet trying to sit up. This should not be done: with immaturity of the muscular corset, spine and (which is especially important for girls) internal organs, instead of a harmoniously developed baby, you can get serious problems. The most serious complications of early seating are considered to be a bend in the uterus and deformation of the spine. For a baby who is mentally ready to take the "sitting" position, but does not have enough physical strength, you can choose an intermediate option: a semi-recumbent position in a special lounger, swing or car seat. In this case, the girl gets the opportunity to explore the world around her and not receive excessive stress on the musculoskeletal system and muscles. When specifying how many months you can seat a girl, you should not blindly follow the instructions of doctors and the recommendations of consultants, take into account the individuality of the child and follow your own common sense.
