Another characteristic feature: during spawning, they make unusual sounds. Here are the main conditions for keeping gourami:

  • Aquarium. It should be spacious. Young animals can grow in a 50 liter tank, but adults need to be transplanted in a tank of at least 100 l.
  • Light. The ideal option is soft and muted.
  • Temperature. The air in the room and the water in the aquarium should be the same temperature.
  • Filtration. The filter is needed, but it should not create a strong flow. These fish love calm waters.
  • Soil. It doesn't matter what it will be. From a decorative point of view, it is better to choose dark soil, as these fish look better against its background.
  • Plants. They must be present in sufficient quantity. In addition to ordinary algae, on the surface of the water should be waterfowl. Timid fishes of this species like to hide in secluded places.

These conditions are quite sufficient for small onesgourami felt comfortable in their aquarium. In terms of food, these fish are generally unpretentious. You can give them artificial, frozen or live food.
