Drug therapy is an integral part of assistance. Often, after proper work with children at preschool age, they go to study in a regular school. According to special indications of specialists, the child can be sent to a correctional school of type VII - a boarding school for children with learning difficulties. But no one will take a child to such an institution without the consent of the parents. Some comprehensive schools have created remedial classes in which children with mental retardation are taught. After finishing school, they choose a suitable option for further education - to enter a college, vocational school or university. Parents of a child diagnosed with mental retardation should not despair. If there are no severe organic brain lesions, the child will grow up normal with proper education and treatment.
