When Ashley was eight months old, she wasdiagnosis of hepatic insufficiency. There was no cure for the girl: she needed a transplant. Ashley was queued for transplantation. The baby waited until she was six years old. The transplant was successful. But there is one thing: the girl is blind. Doctors believe that everything is due to the fact that her liver threw too many toxins into the blood before it was transplanted. Now Ashley's retina is damaged. As doctors describe her condition, Ashley looks as though she is looking at the world through a tube from a roll of toilet paper, which is getting bigger and narrower. Ashley does not see at dusk, she already has almost no peripheral vision. The condition of the girl deteriorates very quickly. She has only two years left to see. "I was just killed by the news that Ashley would be blind and could never see again," 34-year-old Stephanie. - I did not know how to tell her about it.
