Alexei Alexandrov, the prefect of the Central District of Moscow, said that this is a necessary reconstruction, it is not planned to completely paint the wall.

“We will leave part of the wall as a kind of frame,we will carry out repair work and give it a more civilized look, ”Aleksandrov told RIA Novosti. After reconstruction, they will remain under a layer of plaster. According to "moviegoers", after the repair, the wall will quickly return to its usual appearance. "Tsoi's Wall" spontaneously appeared in Krivoarbatsky lane after the death of the famous performer in 1990. Fans of the group painted it with quotes from songs and declarations of love to the musician. For many years it has been an informal place of worship for the leader of the Kino group and a monument to Russian rock. In 2006, the wall was painted over by members of the Art Destroy Project movement, but then again restored by fans.
