Russia poll, food for New YearPhoto:GettyFirst of all, it is worth noting that, according to surveys, 95% of Russians love the New Year. At the same time, the study showed that women like to celebrate holidays more than men. Thus, 97% of the fair sex pay more attention to birthdays, 67% - March 8, 52% - religious holidays and 38% - Valentine's Day. Men prefer to celebrate public holidays more often (11% versus 7%).Now about the taste preferences of Russians on New Year's. The main dish of the holiday table is baked or fried meat / poultry (71%) and salads with mayonnaise (70%). For 58% of Russians, fruits are important and for 43% - smoked meats, such as sausage, fish and cheeses. It is interesting that the male part of the population notes the importance of having side dishes and smoked meats on the tables, while women vote more for fruits, vegetables, baked meat, fish, and all kinds of sweets. If we take the ratio of preferences of people from small and large cities, then we can note that people from small settlements prefer baked meat and fruits, and from large ones - seafood, caviar and vegetables. And, finally, an amazing fact: least of all on the holiday tables, Russians prefer to see fatty foods, fast food and ... alcohol. But this is despite the fact that the younger the generation, the more positively it treats fast food and sweets.
