1. Campari
The name Gaspare Campari has acquiredfame very quickly. By the time Gaspar was 14, he was already considered the best bartender in Turin. His cocktails were wildly popular, and Gaspar decided to take on the creation of his own aperitif recipe. When he eventually bequeathed the formula of the drink to his heirs, it listed more than 60 components. In 1860, Gaspar founded Gruppo Campari to register the trademark of his own bitter in Milan. Just like the recipe for Coca-Cola, the ingredients of Campari are kept a closely guarded secret, known only to the chairman of the company and a small handful of workers who add water and alcohol to the secret concentrate to achieve the same taste. The drink is still made according to Gaspar Campari's recipe and includes quinine, orange peel, rhubarb and various aromatic herbs. Cocktails based on Campari
