Tools Glue gun, sheet of paper, scissors, tweezers, tapestry needle (with a large eyelet), a flat piece of dry soap.

Make a paper pattern in the shape of a cone. Wrap it with a sheet of paper and cut off excess edges at the bottom.

Open the velveteen base for the tightening of the cone (withallowance for a vertical joint of 0.5 cm), by placing vertically the strips of fabrication. Mark the locations of the wicker sections and make vertical incisions on them. Use for the production of "noodles" a ripper, included in a set of accessories for sewing machines. The width of the stripes, depending on the texture of the fabric, choose 2-3 grooves of corduroy.

Slice strips (0.5 cm thick) for weavingfrom a different drape fabric with a nap and a bright tapestry. Using tweezers, insert them between the velvet strips according to the principle of weaving baskets - in staggered order.

In the process of braiding the middle in several places and the ends of the strips are glued to the base from the wrong side with the glue "Moment".

Cut off the "corner" all the ends of the strips. Decorate the wicker with a golden slender cord, passing it under the velvet strips through the row.

Using a glue gun, glue the woven base on the cone. The bottom cut is covered with the fleecy edge of the drape fabric.

Velvet fabric can be used forvarious variants of decoration of cones, for example, combining it with artificial fur. Draw on the pattern of the place of filling with fur. The pattern should simulate the branches of the spruce. Cut out the "islets" using a pair of nail scissors with thin ends. At the same time, carefully cut only the dense basis of the fur, trying not to damage the pile. Sew the bottom edge and each fur piece with a stitch. From a piece of felt cut a small five-pointed star (2.5 cm), leaving a "leg" for fastening the crown of the Christmas tree. Using a glue gun, cover the cone with a cloth backing. From the top, glue all the details of the fur, putting a star in the top of the head.
The simplest and fastest option is to glue the cone with bright, non-decorative fabrics. Arrange them in three "floors" and decorate with snowflakes from guipure.
Another version of the "corduroy" tree can be madeon the principle of making children's lanterns. The most difficult thing is to prepare a pattern. Separate the upper part of the pattern (the upper triangle 10-12 cm high). Cut it horizontally in two places and move apart the pieces in height, retreating from each other 3.5 cm. These "straight" areas need to be cut with strips using a ripper. By gluing the fabric on the cone, connect the parts that have been moved apart - lanterns from strips will be obtained. The remaining lower part of the pattern must be divided into three vertical parts - the trapezoid. Each of them also prepare and glue in turn, precisely combining the vertical joints. Close the horizontal seam with a braid. The crown can be cut from a large square bra and paste into the crown.
