What is Asti?

Wine astiAsti winePhoto: Shutterstock.comAsti D.O.C.G.– is a white sparkling wine produced from the White Muscat grape variety (Moscato Bianco), grown in the province of Piedmont (northern Italy), and only there. Wines of the Asti D.O.C.G. category are distinguished by an exceptionally balanced combination of natural sweetness and low alcohol content. The rich Muscat bouquet characteristic of the drink is revealed by fruity and floral nuances - from the aroma of acacia flowers, wisteria and orange tree to notes of wild mountain honey. Unfortunately, counterfeit Asti D.O.C.G. sparkling wine is not uncommon on the Russian market.
