Thai food recipesThai cuisine recipesMost Thai dishescuisines, as you probably noticed, are very spicy, this tradition came from India. And there it was not so much a whim of gourmets, but a harsh necessity, since the spiciness of food served as a disinfectant for bad water. Now, of course, there are many more opportunities to solve water problems, but the culinary tradition has already taken shape. For a European stomach, this is a rather serious problem. But you should not wash down hot sauces with water, this will not give anything. It is better to do the same as the Thais themselves, experiencing similar difficulties: take more rice. After all, rice is one of the main food products, it is so important for Thais that the words "rice" and "food" are synonyms and sound like "khao". Other products, for example, vegetables, fish or meat, they call "kap khao". – “what is eaten with rice”. A favorite Thai dish is tom-yam-gun soup, which is served in a special tin samovar. Of course, you can get by with a regular saucepan, but the aesthetics will be spoiled. To get a real tom yum goong withFor a spicy and sour taste, take a handful of black pepper, fresh coriander and ginger roots, and garlic. You also need lemon - a sedge-type plant whose stem has a sharp lemon aroma at the slightly thickened base. All these spices should be crushed and pounded into a homogeneous mass. And the basis of the famous soup is shrimp, the larger the better. They must be peeled, leaving the husk only on the tip of the tail. The peelings and heads should never be thrown away - they set the taste tone. After slightly drying them on a napkin, they are thrown into boiling vegetable oil and fried until the husk becomes bright pink and crispy. This will take five to six minutes. Only then is drinking water added - so that it just covers the contents. When the liquid boils, the heat should be reduced. After cooking for 10 minutes, strain the broth and pour it into a samovar heated with coals or another container. Now, before serving, dissolve the prepared spice paste in the boiling broth again, add peeled shrimp, pour in lemon juice, fish sauce and sprinkle with lemon leaves. You can serve it on the table, amazing your guests with a traditional Thai dish. You can serve smoked squid on bamboo sticks with a special sauce with this soup. And of course, rice. Another common food product is noodles, so you can serve it with your wonderful soup. Meat is rarely eaten in Thailand because of its high cost and is often cooked only to order. But fish and seafood are consumed in great quantities. But if you want to have dessert after lunch, you will most likely be disappointed, as Thais are indifferent to sweets, their puddings made from a mixture of eggs, coconuts, bananas and sticky rice are not very popular with foreigners. So I advise you to wait with sweets until some European-style cafe, there you are more likely to find something suitable. In Thailand, they love parties and holidays, duringThe time of the festivals always serves carefully prepared traditional dishes, this is done as a sign of respect for customs and traditions. Snack trays, exotic fruit dishes and Thai beers or local whiskeys are served. All meals are served on the table at once, so that the hostess can enjoy lunch with guests. If you have not been to Thailand and just want to visit it, but are not yet ready to eat national dishes, remember: in all major cities you can find a place where you will be fed in a European way and you will not have to stick spicy seafood with sticky rice and drink ice water. However, it is still worth the risk and try the national food, and suddenly it seems to you not so exotic and not as spicy as the author of these lines.
