Project #1: Life has become more fun
Interior design of the kitchen living room before… It seemedThis living room had everything you need for a pleasant stay: a beautiful bay window, a large window, a comfortable sofa and even Arne Jacobsen's iconic Egg chair. But the owners of the house were filled with green melancholy, so they rarely spent time here. Stylist LAIBINA AISHAK took on the task of rectifying the situation…afterFLOOR The old wooden floor has long since lost its appearance, andthe owners had to bashfully cover it with a carpet. Because of this, the room seemed dark and "old-fashioned". Laibina replaced the boards with shiny vinyl tiles Ocean Glass, Amtico (sold in Russia by "Ortgraf Company"). Externally, this reflective material resembles a glass mosaic. And in its characteristics, it is akin to industrial linoleum: durable, wear-resistant and "holds" heat well. To speed up, Laibina laid the new flooring directly on the old floor. But it is better not to rush: the ideal base for such tiles will be a concrete screed or plywood. PAINTING The color scheme of these works repeats the palette of the living room, which is not surprising, since they were painted specifically for this interior. The technology for making masterpieces is simple: you need to stretch the canvas on a stretcher, apply the contours of the drawing, and then paint everything with acrylic or oil. Laibina advises not to skimp on paint, then the surface of the canvas will be uniform, smooth and bright. WALLS Previously, they were painted white. Laibina enlivened the color scheme by painting the chimney box orange (matte vinyl emulsion African Adventure 2, Dulux was used). To make the shade more saturated, the paint was applied in three layers (the main surface was rolled with a roller, and the joints with the ceiling and floor were worked with a brush). A bright spot of color marked the visual center of the interior, now it looks more orderly. CURTAINS AND LAMPSHADE Laibina decorated the faceless white curtains with mother-of-pearl buttons and transformed the "office" roller blinds with bright tape. This is done like this: remove the curtains from the windows and use a ruler and pencil to draw horizontal lines on them. Then cut the tape (it should be a couple of centimeters longer than the width of the curtain), fold the ends inward and carefully glue along the markings with textile glue. To transform a simple, single-color lampshade, glue a ribbon with beaded pendants to its bottom edge. FURNITURE ARRANGEMENT Previously, a wooden table blocked the passage to the window, creating a feeling of crampedness. Laibina brought transparent plastic furniture to the foreground - it was as if it did not exist. ACCESSORIES The interior of this living room was clearly spontaneous - the space was literally falling apart. The blue sofa "did not get along" with the burgundy armchair. Plastic furniture - with a dark carpet. Accessories in orange and pink colors helped to bring the room to a common denominator. Thanks to them, the interior acquired integrity. These items will help you create a similar interior
