Choosing a sofa
Short notice for the buyer
- Fold-out sofas can be modified to form a single, one-and-a-half or double bed.
- Details. The list of design elements includes the frame, base, seat, back, side panels, armrests, legs. But manufacturers often refuse a number of details.
- The frame and base are made of chipboard(low-budget models), fiberboard, multilayer plywood, pine, birch and metal (medium-priced products), hardwood and metal (expensive sofas).
- Filler. The softness and elasticity of the seat and backrest are provided by the fillers. Inexpensive models use sheet polyurethane foam (foam rubber). But, despite the batting or padding polyester lining, it quickly loses its shape. The stuffing of a more expensive sofa looks like this: at the bottom there is a mesh of rubber-fabric belts, in the middle there is polyurethane foam or foam rubber (artificial latex), and at the top there is synthetic felt. Expensive products have the most complex filling. Fillers (natural or artificial latex, polyurethane foam) are placed on spring blocks, a lattice or slats (battens), and the "pie" is finished with a layer of artificial or natural felt.
- Upholstery. Our financial capabilities significantly influence the choice of upholstery. Sometimes manufacturers offer more than eight price categories for such upholstery. The more natural fibers in the fabric, the more difficult its production, the higher its wear resistance, the more expensive it is. A similar classification is applied to more expensive leather. Here, dressing and manufacturer are important.
