Rich RussiansPhoto:ShutterstockThe Future Lab research agency, commissioned by MasterCard, conducted a large-scale study of the preferences of wealthy Russians in the context of the economic crisis. Symbols and guidelines are changing - from luxury "for show" to a more thoughtful and sophisticated style. Traditions continue to form in areas such as entrepreneurship and philanthropy, which indicates a high level of optimism in society. The crisis has awakened social, cultural and altruistic impulses in people that will form the basis for the rebirth of Russia as a cultural center and business capital, RIA Novosti quotes Tom Savigar, a representative of Future Lab. As it turned out during the study, wealthy people began to spend more and more time at home with their families. The most popular types of leisure are the Internet, television and contemporary art exhibitions. Almost all wealthy Russians (81%) have begun to travel significantly less, preferring to vacation within their homeland. Our compatriots do not consider it necessary to purchase luxury goods, preferring mass-market and online shopping.
