  • ARVI;

  • bronchitis;
  • irritation of the pleura;
  • laryngitis;
  • pathology of the gastrointestinal tract;
  • reflux esophagitis;
  • heart failure;
  • asthma, etc.

Considering the impressive list of diseases,an accompanying symptom of which is a cough, it is better to consult a doctor for an accurate diagnosis and treatment recommendations. After eliminating the underlying cause, the cough will disappear on its own.

What to do if a child is choking from coughing

If a cough begins to literally “choke” a child, three important things need to be done immediately.

  • Call an ambulance or a doctor at home. As an option - you can go on your own to the hospital.
  • In no case give the baby medicines. Uncontrolled intake of drugs without taking into account the true cause of coughing only aggravate the situation.
  • While waiting for a consultation with a pediatrician, create a comfortable environment for the child.
  • Make sure that before the doctor arrivesthe baby was in a clean room with cool, moist air, drank plenty of water or tea and was dressed in comfortable clothes that did not squeeze the chest. Ventilate the rooms more often so that there is no lack of oxygen. Usually, parents are afraid to take a coughing child outside. However, if there is no fever, walks in the fresh air will only be beneficial and should not be neglected. To eliminate a cough during a cold, it is recommended to steam your feet. When the feet are immersed in hot water, the blood rushes to the lower limbs, so the swelling of the mucous membrane of the larynx and nose decreases. In case of a sudden suffocating cough for no apparent reason, it is necessary to urgently call an ambulance - perhaps the child has asthma or a foreign body has entered his respiratory tract.
