Risks and signs of false pregnancy in women
Women over 30 who have not given birth are particularly susceptible to this condition. The risk of developing a false pregnancy is also high in:
- Emotionally unstable ladies;
- women who have miscarried, child death;
- eager to experience the joys of motherhood;
- women experiencing fear of pregnancy.
Diagnosing a false pregnancy is not easy. The fact is that a woman who considers herself pregnant will not believe the opposite until a test or an ultrasound scan shows a lack of fetus. Symptoms of pseudo-pregnancy:
- Dizziness, weakness;
- weight gain;
- abdominal growth;
- change of gait, posture;
- lack of menstruation;
- breast augmentation;
- toxicosis;
- change in taste preferences.
Some women with false pregnancy feelmovement of the fetus, because they can not agree with the opinion of the gynecologist. At the first examination, the doctor establishes the absence of a normal pregnancy, and if the patient refuses to accept it, she is referred for treatment to a psychologist or psychiatrist. The duration of such a psychophysical condition is 3–7 months. In the history of obstetrics, there were cases when women with an imaginary pregnancy experienced real contractions. Pseudo-pregnancy can be determined independently. To do this, use the high-precision pregnancy test. It is designed for elevated levels of the hormone hCG produced by the chorion (the future placenta) during the attachment of the ovum to the wall of the uterus. But due to hormonal preparations, the test may give a false result. An analysis of hCG in a hospital will give a clearer result, but the most accurate definition of pregnancy is a gynecologist examination and an ultrasound examination. Pseudo-pregnancy is considered one of the symptoms of ovarian disease, thyroid problems, because you found signs of a normal pregnancy, but the ultrasound did not confirm it, consult a physician. Imaginary or phantom pregnancy is not a disease, but it requires the attention of a specialist.
