Experience, the son of difficult mistakes
I remember dressing my daughter on her first daykindergarten: a puffy pink jacket and light blue skinny jeans. The other children also looked smart - someone in a dress and light tights, someone in fashionable lace-up sneakers. I was allowed to watch the walk. And I realized with horror that when my girl squatted, her bare lower back was sticking out of her low-waisted pants! For an hour I jumped around my daughter, pulling up her belt, and the mother of the boy in sneakers had to constantly tie his laces. My daughter walked home in a dirty jacket and jeans, which were also wet - the sand was damp and cold, despite the sunny weather. That same evening I bought my daughter a set - a jacket and semi-overalls made of waterproof fabric. She didn't look as stylish in it, but I was no longer worried that the child would crawl on the ground and get cold or wet. Our expert Kristina Shabalina, a kindergarten teacher:- Narrow jeans are not suitable for a garden. Choose pants free cut with an elastic band on the belt - the kid can not cope with buttons and zippers. You need practical non-clothing - the waterproof kit is perfect. If the sneakers and shoes, then on Velcro, if the sandals - with a closed heel and nose, so as not to damage the fingers. And forget about shoelaces and fasteners with holes!Photo: GettyImages
One hundred clothes
Already in the first week I realized that I had bought it in vain.beautiful light-colored T-shirts. I took home a child who was dirty from head to toe and every evening I washed out stains from gouache, borscht and compote. My stain remover couldn’t cope with such a palette, so some of the things went into the trash bin in the first three months. Expensive sweaters faded a lot from endless washing and began to look no better than rags. I realized that kindergarten is exactly the case when quantity is more important than quality. It’s better to buy a lot of inexpensive clothes and throw them away without regret after three months than to shake over three branded T-shirts. Kristina Shabalina:— If a child spills something while eating or notran to the toilet, the teacher will definitely change him. Therefore, there should always be a spare set in the locker: panties, a vest, a T-shirt, trousers or a skirt, tights and socks. After the street, some children sweat, and then they need to be completely changed again. If the mother did not take care of a change of clothes - and this happens - you have to take spare things from another child.Photo: GettyImages
Socks or tights?
In winter the kindergarten is well heated and it is easy to walk intights are hot. But here's the problem - you still have to pull them on for a walk. This takes a lot of time, and the child tramples barefoot on the dirty floor of the locker room. Leggings will be a salvation for girls, and cotton trousers for boys. Put on street pants on top, and go ahead - beauty! Although even here not everything is smooth: under outerwear, leggings constantly ride up, and socks slide down, exposing the legs. Kristina Shabalina:- Instead of socks, buy children golfs, then the legs will be protected. Or choose thin cotton pantyhose.
Helm of all the head
The cold weather has arrived and my peace is under threat again:I was afraid that the child would run around the kindergarten with an untied hat and a dangling scarf. I decided to buy a bib. At first everything went well, but then the collar stretched, and the neck began to be draughty. One day, the ill-fated thing was completely lost in the locker room, and my daughter had to walk around in the teacher's scarf. I decided not to mess with scarves and bibs and a helmet anymore. The solution turned out to be ideal - no ties, and the neck is securely covered. Kristina Shabalina:- I have an ambiguous attitude towards helmets. Yes, it is a very convenient thing, but it does not fit for every form of the head. You can fly with a size, and then either the ears will look out, or the neck. Manishka is a great option. Do not be afraid of scarves and hats on the strings - the teacher will certainly help them wear it. By the way, I do not recognize hats without strings, they all the time slide off my head.Photo: GettyImages
Elastic bands - no
When I was a child, I wore mittens with elastic bands –convenient, no need to search for a pair all over the closet, and they don’t fall off when you’re outside. So I sewed them on my daughter’s mittens too. But every time I came to kindergarten, the elastic bands were completely torn off. The child pulled the stubborn mitten out of the sleeve until it came off with the flesh. And no amount of persuasion worked! After a month, I spat on everything and stopped sewing on the elastic bands. The mittens didn’t get lost, but they got very dirty, because the kids either dug in the sand or made snowballs. Then I bought expensive waterproof gloves in the hope of forgetting about the mountain of wet mittens. But they turned out to be terribly uncomfortable and spent most of the time gathering dust in the closet. Kristina Shabalina:- After the walk we dry our mittens on the radiator, andif they have an elastic band sewn on, then you have to pull the wet dirty mitten through the entire sleeve. After that, all the clothes are in the sand. So it is better without it. Important: if your child is still small, do not buy him gloves for kindergarten, he will be tormented to put his fingers in there. Also interesting:
