Comics about children and parents Brian draws alreadymore than ten years and without embellishment, but with humor tells about how the life of newly-made moms and dads actually looks. Are you worried that only your child is not perfect, and that all familiar tots are just gold? Look through the comics and you will understand that all young parents go through the same thing.Photo:Eksmo Publishing House— My wife and I were overjoyed to be expecting our first child, says Brian. — We read a bunch of books on how to be good parents, took special courses, and were sure that we were completely prepared. But we were very wrong. A few months later, when I carried an inconsolable bundle of screaming charm into his room at four in the morning, I thought that all this had been much less magical than I had been promised. Although the courses told us about regurgitation and breastfeeding, we were not taught how to deal with lack of sleep, fatigue, and the destructive self-doubt that came with the baby from the maternity hospital. When I began sharing our problems with other parents, what I had always been so afraid of happened: we were the only ones who had a difficult child. We were the only ones who had difficulties with the role of parents. It seemed that everyone else was having a wonderful time with their perfect babies. It wasn’t until I started publishing comics about my fears and frustrations that I realized I wasn’t alone. It turns out that most people are just mean liars. No one wants to admit that their child isn’t perfect or that they don’t always enjoy being a parent. No one wants to admit defeat. Then I realized that every parent is a little scared: no one really knows what the right thing to do is. It turns out that we’re all (yes, even you mean liars) just making it up as we go along. I hope this collection of comics will provide some comfort to parents who feel a little overwhelmed from time to time. Don’t worry, guys! You’re not alone. Really. You’ll never be alone. Just try taking a bath alone and you’ll see what I mean.
