  • The milk preparation should always be sterilized.
  • Follow the package recommendations for temperature, volume of water and amount of dry matter - the ratio should be exact, not approximate.
  • Feeding frequency is every 3 hours or as per individual recommendations of your doctor.

In the first 3 months after birth, this is the only product that a baby receives when bottle-fed.

Start of complementary feeding

A four-month-old formula-fed baby can bealready introduce a new product. Most often, pediatricians recommend choosing fruit juices for this - apple or pear, without pulp and sugar. The packaging must be marked - 4+. On the first day, 5 ml are given, the next - 10, so we add up to 30 ml every day - this will take 6 days. You can’t drink more than this norm yet. The next stage is the introduction of fruit puree. It should be hypoallergenic - from green apples or pears. We start with 5 ml, gradually bring it to 50 ml - this is the daily norm at five months of age. This time is also suitable for vegetable puree - from zucchini, broccoli and cauliflower. We introduce them one by one and gradually. You can add a few drops of vegetable oil. At 6 months, cottage cheese appears in the child's diet - no more than 30 g, butter, porridge. By seven, you can introduce meat, yolk, baby cookies. At 8 months, it's time to add kefir and yogurt to the menu, as well as some white bread. The range of vegetables expands - you can boil carrots, potatoes, pumpkin. Later, introduce your child to low-fat fish - up to 50 g no more than 2 times a week. For now, these are all the products allowed for babies under one year. Only their daily norm changes as the child grows. The amount of formula is reduced - there are fewer and fewer feedings, they are replaced by complementary foods.
