#LetNannyGoToProm - let granny go forhigh school graduation. Such a hashtag has been walking on social networks of Americans for a week now. It was started by schoolboy Bruce Main from Alabama. He is 18 years old, and very soon the guy will celebrate graduation. At a significant event, Bruce called not his girlfriend or neighbor on the desk, but his 69-year-old grandmother Catherine. It so happened that she never had a prom. A loving grandson decided to fix it. “Every girl deserves to go to the prom at least once!” - says Bruce. “Moreover, my grandmother is the most important woman in my life! On a large poster, the guy wrote“ Graduation? ”. Grandma could not refuse such an offer. Catherine was so excited! His eyes shone with happiness. “I kept asking Bruce:“ Why don't you take someone else? ”But he replied:“ No, I want to go with my granny! ”I was so touched! It is such an honor for me! - the woman is moved. Catherine immediately went shopping to buy herself a beautiful evening dress. “My daughter, my grandchildren, and even Bruce's girlfriend all helped me choose an outfit for the ball. We found the perfect dress! “All the store workers were so excited when they found out that I was going to the school ball,” says my grandmother.Photo:Facebook/Sarah CatherineKatherine was counting down the days until her first prom, when suddenly she received a message from the school. Having learned about Bruce’s plans, the administration forbade the boy from bringing his grandmother with him. Catherine’s heart was broken… The story of the grandmother who did not attend the prom made a lot of noise on social networks and in local newspapers. Outraged journalists demanded an answer from the administration. “The safety of students and school staff is the administration’s top priority,” Principal Steve Hawkins answered the journalists in a formal manner. “Every year, students ask to bring adults to the prom. But we turn down these requests. Most high schools have age restrictions for prom participants. It’s a safety issue.” The principal did not specify how exactly the 69-year-old woman could pose a threat to safety. However, Catherine’s grandson said that the reason the school did not allow his grandmother to attend the prom was alcohol. They say that grandma can bring something stronger in her purse and get all the graduates drunk to delirium tremens. “They think that if they allow Bruce to take grandma to prom, then in the future graduates will do the same thing for fun,” Bruce’s cousin Sarah is indignant. In protest, the guy refused to go to the school ball. Instead, he decided to throw his own prom for grandma.
