Let's argue?

The tradition of ironing diapers, sliders and ryazhonkigoes back to those times when our grandmothers had to wash by hand. A hot iron destroyed the remaining microbes after washing. But in our time there are washing machines in which it is possible to wash children's clothes at high temperature. Therefore, the question of ironing things the child causes a lot of controversy. Some pediatricians believe that carefully ironing things the babies really need to destroy the bacteria left on the surface of children's clothes and diapers after washing or drying. But the famous (and highly authoritative) doctor Komarovsky believes that ironing things up is just satisfaction of the parents' needs for beauty. That is, you need to iron, but only to make clothes look neat. It's really cute.iron children's thingsPhoto: GettyImagesBut there are some points that speak in favor of the fact that the things kids need to iron before donning:

  • ironing with steam allows you to kill germs that have fallen on children's clothing during drying on the street or balcony;
  • with ironing, you remove the remains of detergents that can cause an allergic reaction in the child;
  • until the umbilical wound has healed, it is better to be safe and still iron things;
  • seams on children's clothes after ironing become softer and do not rub the delicate skin of the baby.

Technical approach

First of all you will need a good iron andcomfortable ironing board. Not that they kill microbes better, but you will make a rather tedious and energy-consuming process a little more comfortable for yourself. Even better, if the household will help you in this. After all, Mom's already enough affairs. But there are purely technical nuances:

  • first you need to sort things by type of fabric and temperature regime;
  • Cotton things can be moistened with water from an atomizer, and it is better to use the steam mode on the iron in order to most effectively destroy all bacteria;
  • things after ironing should be allowed to cool down in a straightened form, only then they can be folded and sent to the closet.

By the way, a small lifhak: Instead of iron, you can use a steamer that perfectly spreads the tissue and kills the bacteria. In addition, it can be used not only to care for clothes. The steamer and other household chores make it easier: laundering tile, floor, bathroom, even windows. Now you know how to iron baby things for newborns correctly. But to do it or not, it's up to the mother herself. It is hardly worth spending all the energy on this process: for a baby, the time spent in contact with the mother is perhaps more important than the absence of wrinkles on clothes. Read further:
